SOURCE: need instructions on removing hyundai santa fe 01 fan belt ac

its your serpentine belt (thats what its called) and you will need a 3/8 ratchet and then find the belt tensioner. The tensioner has a spot where you need to put the ratchet into and pull or push depending on whatever way and that will releive the pressure off the belt so you can take it off.

If you live in the US, take it to qany Auto Zone store and thy will read the codes off for you, I would suspect any right thinking competitor would do the same, check if you don't have one near by.

Hope this is of some help.

This is from the factory service manual of your car:
There is no onboard programming procedure for this vehicle. This vehicle requires special equipment be connected to the vehicle to program the keyless remote. Translation you need the dealer to do this.

Location of neutral safety switch

Not sure about yours for sure but normally the neutral switch in American made cars are on the steering column by the floor pan and it is I/2 moon shaped. Hope this helps. Are you sure the switch is bad or is it the starter solenoid or the starter itself.

How is the nuetral safety switch on a Hyundia Santa fe 06? I believe if I'm facing the car its accessible on the left side. I removed the skid plate but can't locate it.

First we need to make sure that its the neutral safety switch how did you come about that conclusion? Try this next time it will not start shift the gear into neutral and try to start it again if it starts every time you shift to neutral I would say yes start with your neutral safety switch. Your neutral safety switch is incorporated with your transmission range sensor located on the transmission follow the transmission linkage to the transmission there you should find the neutral safety switch usually black in color made of plastic with a wire harness connected to it you could get someone to shift it for you while you look to make sure you are looking at the right part.

I have a 2003 hyundai santa fe 2.7 litres i went to the store shut the car off and when i turned it back on it would not come out of park i cant get it to shift at all i had to get it towed home

you have a neutral start safety switch on that vehicle,, This factory part has a part number of 42700-39055, its not working correctly, Check at the top of the brake pedal you should see either one, or possibly 2 switches, ( some models have them combined) see if the plunger in that switch is operation when you apply the brake, if so,, its bad on the inside, remove and replace it

HI Sandra

First let me start with explaining what they mean by " the inhibitor switch" . This device is really called the neutral safety switch. It's called that because the function of this switch is to prevent the vehicle from being started while the shift lever is in drive, reverse or any of the lower gears. Meaning that the car can only be started while the shifter is in park or neutral. This is only a safety device. What your problem sounds like is that this switch is not positioned correctly. When the switch is in the right position it recognizes if the car is in park or neutral or in gear. if adjusted correctly (and it's only a matter of millimeters) the car starts in park or neutral. if it's out of position (which is what your problem sounds like it wont let the car start). All that needs to be done is to position the switch correctly. Of course there is always the outside chance that the switch itself if faulty, still this is far from a costly repair. Go to a transmission shop and tell them you need your safety neutral switch adjusted because the car will not start in park sometimes. This should cost you at the most $30. Unless the switch is bad, the of course it could be as much as $200 to replace. I hope this helps you.
