Dorothy: You need to know the make, model and year to answer that question. According to RV trailers, most travel trailers do NOT come with an onboard generator. Try turning them to the off position then on again that should reset the breaker. When they trip sometimes they move so little you can hardly see it.

It sounds like the tongue weight is too high for the compressor to handle and it is running continuously until it overheats (and fails).

I don't know what type or brand travel trailer you have but I would have the axle/axles checked to see if they may have shifted on the leaf springs causing the trailer to push to one side or another. Basically have the axle alignment checked on the trailer. Also check the spring shackles and bushings for damage and rot. And check the trailer brakes if equipped for dragging on one side more than the other.
