Idler pulley bracket where can I buy one or is there an alternative to it

you need to post year, make, model and what engine?
also which idler pulley? I'm guessing you're probably looking at the accessories drive belt ("fan belt") idler pulley bracket.
Is this a serpentine belt.
a lot of cars use Idler and or tensioner pulleys on the timing belt/chain. the Idlers often don't have brackets
why are you replacing the bracket? did you break it? or do you just need the pulley? I normally replace both pulleys (idler and tensioner) when replacing either one.
anyways.. need a lot more info to answer your question

My 2003 monte carlo turns over but wont start tried to clean idle control valve could this be my problem

no if it turns and wont start you have to check for fuel and spark the idler only works when the engine its on, remove a spak plug wire and if you have an old spark plug attachec to it and ground it have someone help you and see if you see a spark junping fron the electrode, if so the try to spray some starting fluid on the throttle body and try staring kisten to the relays to see if they click when you turn the key to the on position ok, let me know.

Loud squeal

Hi there
Your problem could be either Alternator bearing or water pump bearing ,both of these are normal problems, so sorry to tell you but you have to remove the belt again and spin the alternator pulley and see if it has a groan noise and the same with the water pump.
Your problem should be 1 of them OR the other problem is bigger and thats the bottom engine front pulley SEAL but thats only 1 in 1000 times so hope its one of the other two.

Idler Pulley replacement

there is normally a spacer on the bolt that positions the pulley the correct distance to miss the mounting bracket. IT sits between the bracket and the inner race of the bearing and locks that race so that the bearing can operate correctly.

I have mercury villager 1999 ,when started in morning idler ok , after run for 20 mnts engine stall in idler turn off ,end stared back up ok give gas go normal , and star again idler low like lose power...

Read the following and follow the instructions for this problem.

Here are the most common causes of idle surge, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake

Idler pulley replacement?

Once the belt is removed, the center bolt from the idler pulley should unscrew normally with a socket. The replacement pulley bolts back in with the same bolt, then just put the belt back on. The bolt should be very snug, but do not overtighten ir it will shorten the life of the idler. As tight as you can get it with one hand using a typical 3/8" ratchet should be adequate. There should be a belt routing diagram on a sticker under the hood. Belt removal and reinstallation is achieved by using a 3/8" drive ratchet or breaker bar to engage the square hole on the spring loaded tensioner arm and flex it clockwise on most engines. On other GM engines, placing a socket on the center bolt of the tensioner pulley and turning clockwise will flex the tensioner to loosen the belt. When you have the belt off, check all pulleys for smooth rotation and listen for squeaking. If any of them bind or squeak, they should be repaired/replaced as well. Installing a new belt is also a good idea when replacing the idler.
