Question about 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix
Changed coil packs . map air sens . and tpi sens and still dong it
Is the eng, light on, if so use the found codes as a basis. check the fuel system for low fuel pump pressure, clogged fuel filter. If its fine check the exhaust back pressure. Before the cat. pull the O2 sensor
out and install a low pressure gauge to see there is excessive back pressure. more then 5 to 10 PSI would indicate an issue with the CAT.

Mine did the same thing too. Engine light came on, spuddered and did not accelerate. I brought into my local shop, (i was in a bind and had no other options, late 4 work, and they had a shuttle service). they scannd it and said it was one of the coil packs. So i replaced it with one from a slavage yard. Still threw the same code. I overlooked the obvious, the plugs were completely shot. I changed plugs/wires, ran great, better than ever. Brought the old plugs down to shop and they said they checked them and they were fine. They didn't of course. They're a bunch of morons.Have you Checked plugs and wires??
