Have you tested the ASD relay ? Most anti-theft systems will not let you crank or start the engine at all. If it starts for a few seconds, you are loosing spark or fuel.

I have a 1987 Plymouth Voyager that starts, fuel pump comes on but it just runs a few seconds and stops. If you turn the key off and back on, the fuel pump comes back on but shuts back off in a few se


On the fuel rail will be a small round valve type thing with a rubber vacumn tube running to it ,check the tube and make sure its connected as this will stop it from running as it opens the fuel rail for the injectors

2002 dodge ram starts for a few seconds then stops wont idle was running fine before


Fuel pressure would be a good place to start, check that, When you turn the key to the on position, the electric pump should run for a few seconds & build pressure.
Is the engine light on? If so run a scan and pull the codes.
After it dies and you try to restart, is it getting fire to the plugs? Let me know what you find.

Starting problems when cars has stopped for a few hours. Car starts and stops after a 2 seconds. After a couple of times it keeps running. If you start driving no problem at all. In the winter i had...


mcdevito75 here, The temperature riseing to max the cooling off fast, could be a stuck thermostat of the fan switch for the radiator could be faulty. The hard start after a few hours could be a dirty gas filter. Bset Bet, have your local auto repair shop have a llok.
