Question about 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2003chevy pickup silverado , has a drain in the 15 amp rado fuse. they say it is suppose to go to slep after 1 hour. THis is an intermittent problem. does not always go dead. On my 3 rd battery in less than 6 years. Is the radio tied into the BCM to be draining it.
This is a tough question but it sounds like you understand .

What normally you have to look for is that your belt is running properly because your car might be running a lot more off the battery and not so much of f the alternator, but normally if the alternators bad it will drain the battery even if the cars not running.. Yes your first thing you would want to do is check the wiring and al that just because thats cheap and easy but most likley you wanna get the altenator tested...you can get that done at advance auto.. please rate me if you get a chance and if you have any other questions just let me know ill check up on your problem..

BATTERY VOLTAGE CAN DRAIN THROUGH STARTER RELAY OR BAD DIODE IN THE ALTERNATOR.I WOULD REPLACE THE STARTER RELAY.I AM LOOKING AT A ELECTRICAL DIAGRAM.YOU HAVE A 40 AMP IGNITION FUSE THAT FEED THE STARTER RELAY.IF STARTER RELAY HAS A SHORT IN IT.IT COULD DRAIN THE BATTERY.

Disconnect the auxiliary power cable from the under-hood distribution center that runs to the anti-lock brake controller. Remove the ignition relay from this distribution center (this will isolate/eliminate/indicate the problem as the ignition switch). Unplug any GPS add-on device, and any radar detector, stereo amplifier add-on, I-pod, trailer brake controller add-on, anything that did not come on the truck from the factory. These can be frustrating.
