Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

1999 Honda accord no start and I couldn't get spark out of coil. Confused because everywhere I look says something about the immobilizer is the key continues to flash. I have noticed that I can't get the little green key light to come on at all. What's that mean and could that make coil have power but no spark? Is it in the ignition in the steering column?

The harness that leads from the ignition switch needs to be replaced. I changed mine for $45 and it fixed a bunch of stuff.

SOURCE: 92 honda accord intermittent crank but no start/ tranny issues

I know that early 90's Honda's had problems and in fact a recall on the distributor. Might want to replace the distributor. Inside of the distributor is a part called the igniter which is the ignition module and that is what normally goes out. I cannot remember if you have to replace the whole distributor to get the igniter or if you can just replace the igniter itself. Has been a few years since I have worked on one. hope this helps but if not please contact me. I'm not sure about the drive light flashing thing though, new one on me.

SOURCE: how to disable honda accord 1997 Immobilizer

I show immobilizers where only started in the 1998 accords, if you have a remote starter and they used a key in the box bypass all you need to do is find the box under the dash open it up and use the key

Need brake five digit brake code to start my car. Its a 2001 2.3 accord

Only from a Honda dealer by the look of it as they are VIN number specific.
http://automotiveandcommerciallocksmith.blogspot.ca/2012/07/emergency-engine-start-procedure-for.html#!/2012/07/emergency-engine-start-procedure-for.html

To start the engine without a programmed ignition key,
you need these items:
• Immobilizer key blank (master or valet)
(Refer to the parts catalog for the P/N, and search by
VIN for the correct blanks.)
• Key code for the vehicle
• Suitable key cutter
• Immobilizer Brake Code (This code is available on
the iN Immobilizer Code Inquiry.)

How to start my 1999 honda civic without key

You can't start this model without the correct key due to the anti theft immobilizer system. Older models (pre96) could be hotwired or a screwdriver to the ignition switch, but not possible on these it newer.

My 1992 Honda accord just stop running at a stop light and now it won't start, Why?

I had the same problem and couldn't figure it out. Changed all the same components you did. Finally broke down and bought a distributor. Soon as i put it in, it started right up and has been running since. Main fuel relay could cause it to. i re-soldered mine.

My car would not start after putting on new battery. All the lights come on when I turn the key on but when I try to start it I don't even hear a click.

IGNITION COIL sometimes the problem, try replacement products which is way cheaper. also have you checked your sparkplugs? they are only good for 2yrs sometimes not. also check your distributor cap where the sparkplugs cables are connected, and make sure you put it back same place and position. clean and with piece of cloth maybe it is wet or rusty. always disconnect the negative of your battery cable when doing under the hood. fill up your car wd 8 0z of fuel injector cleaner 8 oz. and let yourcar run for few minutes to eliminate carbon deposits cause to clogging. you can pull it out too if you wanted and disconnect the 2 hose and clips before you try to pull out the injector and spray with injector cleaner and leave it for 8 hrs and rinse it wd the same cleaner. 1995 Honda Accord will not start

First you must check to see what missing. You must have spark at the pugs and gas at the injector for this car to start. See whats missing and get back to me. The 1995 Honda Accord has a history of bad distributor. If there is no spark at the spark plugs replace distributor. However on some models the coil is separate and not in the distributor, if so make sure the coil is working.
