SOURCE: Power windows, door locks and mirrors inop.

Sounds familiar - I pulled the rubber boot back and found the black wire was broken. I stripped the wires and put on a couple bullet connectors (terminators) and all is good. Just wish I would have seen this post before I took the door panel off... Oh well...

SOURCE: 1998 Jeep grand cherokee problem with power windows, locks, mirro

I had the same problem. It is most likely in the boot between your rear driver door and the door post. Peel back the boot to expose the wiring and you will probably find that it has been pinched. From there, the wiring runs around the truck to the other windows and locks so they stop working as well. I found several wires bare and shorting. I taped them up and everything has been good for a few years since.

SOURCE: window motor replace 2001 jeep grand cherokee

You need to remove all the skrews from the door. Normaly there is one in the handle of the door, one behind the in door lach handel and one under the bump out for the arm rest on the door. Than you need to take a flat head skrew driver slowly priying the panel off. There are plastic clips on the backside of the panel it is ok if you brake a few.

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee front passenger window will not operate where is the motor located how do I tell If it the motor, switch or regulator causing it not to work?

first check the switches on driver's door and passenger door , most often this is the cause. switch them around to check or use jumper wires in the connectors. motor is inside the door low towards the front. motor is bolted to window regulator assembly.
1. take off door panel and plastic liner
2. remove 3 or 4 bolts retaining assembly with window up, but mark exact location as this affects alignment
3. pivot assembly to remove rollers from track on glass
4. remove assembly through largest opening on inner door frame
5. un bolt motor from regulator
6. Install in reverse order
I am willing to elaborate on any and all of these points untill you are done, just reply to this feed for more info

How do you fix power windows on a jeep grand cherokee. window wont go up but theres power

Need to buy a new window regulator (about $100 at autoparts store).
(leave your windo up and tape it to the window frame so it does not fall)Take interior door panel off, gently remove any sound or moisture barriers, remove old regualtor through the large service holes in door frame, (there will be clips you have to remove to release the regulator) do not let the glass fall (you may have to remove the glass by taking out thru the top of the door), install new regulator, re-install other parts in reverse order.

Change the power button in the door, old don't work have to replace it thanx for help

You said, "change the power button in the door" -- do you mean power window button, power door lock, power mirrors switch?
I assume its for a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

REALLY IMPORTANT: If you intend to post here and expect to receive more accurate responses, suggestions and/or resolutions, you need to be far more specific.

I suggest the following:
1. determine it is definitely the button that's broken; could be fuse, could be bad or loose wiring, bad power window motor, etc.
(hey, i don’t profess to be an expert as i, too, am learning how to troubleshoot and fix stuff on my own to save $)

2. find the part you need on; this will also give you price range for and a picture of (in most cases) a replacement part

3. going to your local junkyard to obtain this part from same make/model vehicle (different year of vehicle may use same part, so this increases your chances of locating the part)
Furthermore, you can figure out (and practice) how to dismantle the door to get to the switch and the tools you may need

4. for additional information on troubleshooting and resolution:

Good luck!

If your vehicle is equipped with power windows and locks, remove door trim panel.
- Disconnect power windows regulator, power lock motor and all other wire harness connections.
- Mark an outline around door hinges for installation alignement reference.

How to replace window regulator on 1999 jeep grand cherokee passenger side front

sorry I don't have much on this one. But, once the door panel is removed, you need to disconnect the glass from the regulator. I can't remember... but I think it is held on with U clips. They are just pushed in on the back side of the trolly. Too release them just push to one side. (see pic)
2218041.jpg *****NOTE: this is from another vehicle but the pin is the the pic. the pin is being pushed back into place.

push the glass all the way to the top of the door and tape it there. Unplug the motor, unbolt the regulator and remove.

4803164.jpg (Im pretty sure that year had 2 pins to hold in the door glass, if I'm wrong you will clearly see 2 X 10mm bolts holding the glass to the regulator)
hope this helps.

Get a New LED Flashlight and Hold it Behind the Fuses to check them for a Blown Fuse First. There is a Fuse box inside the Jeep and a Fuse Relay Box Under the Hood. Under the Hood also Check the Fuses, If the Fuses are all Good, Then look for a Relay Box in the Box under the Hood. There should be a Relay for PW, PL, Inside this Box. Just Replace the Relays and they Should Work. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
