SOURCE: how do i find a trans stick on a 2003 oldsmobile alero?

There's no "stick". the way to check the trans fluid is by locating a cover cap on top of the transmission casin on the driver side of the vehicle, after opening it dip one of your fingers into it. If you feel the fluid or your fingertip gets wet no need to add.. Good luck

SOURCE: Does the coil on an 1999 oldsmobile alero fire in

Not by the numbers on the coils,Those are only for cylinder identification to know where the plug wires go,
your firing order depends on what size engine you have.

2003 oldsmobile alero turns but will not start

Sounds like the computer is dead, or not getting a signal from the crank sensor.
Can you check the crank sensor with a meter, or use a scanner to check data input to the computer ?

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Is the check engine light on ? Have you checked for trouble codes ?
It could be a relay, the ignition module, coil, fuel pump, or a list of other things

Where is the ignition coil located

Depending on the type of engine you have, the coil will be located near the spark plugs. If you have spark plug wires, it's at the oppisite end from the spark plugs. Some engines have coil packs. One coil for every one or two spark plugs. If you have a four cylinder they should look like this.

Cant find the spark plugs

Here's a link that will help you. I've included the info that you need to locate the plugs below. Good luck!

http://www.ehow.com/how_4484637_replace-spark-plugs-oldsmobile-alero.html

To gain access to the spark plugs and spark plug wires do the following. In a 2.4 liter engine, remove the ignition coil and module assembly from the top of the engine to gain access. In this Alero model's engine, the spark plugs run down the center of the engine. In a 3.1 liter engine, remove the air cleaner to gain access. The spark plugs are located next to the engine oil reservoir. For a 3.4 liter engine, remove the windshield wiper module cover and rotate the engine for service access. For a 2.2 liter engine, the spark plug wires are located across the top of the engine and require no components to be removed for access to the spark plugs.

is located over the cylinder head.theres no difficultyto replace them your self. recommend replacing them when the engine is cooled down because you could damage the spark plug thread when the engine is hot. all you have to remove is the ignition coil housing to replace them and there you will see the spark plugs.

Start with the ignition controll module, it's located under the coil pack and can be tested at most parts stores. also could be the crank or cam postion sensors.
