Question about 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

1 Answer

I have a 2004 chevy trailblazer, I have recently done some work to it such as replaced the throttle body, and water pump and all was good it was running better than ever. Well last night while I was driving, the thing just started jerking. It is also putting off carbon bad. I can feel the jerking in the gas peddle and steering wheel. You can't really tell anything is wrong with it by looking under the hood but if you go around to the tail pipe you can hear a miss. I am not due for an oil change yet. Could this be the cause of a dirty air filter? I know it is possible it could be an oxygen sensor.

That eliminates the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. Have you checked the fuel injector itself for an open winding or stuck valve plunger? There should not be a steady 12 volts to the injector--if good injector, it would be spraying fuel steadily into the throttle body. But at least the engine should try to run if poorly. Take the injector out, dry it off with air, and intermittently apply 12 volts to one terminal while grounding the other. You should hear a click from inside every time you touch 12 volts. If not, replace it. If it does, it may be plugged with debris. Try blowing through it in reverse with compressed air.

I have a 2004 chevy trailblazer and I just had a major tuneup and now when I try to turn da heat on the whole truck just turn off what, could b wrong

One thing that was not done on your "major tune up" was the cleaning of the throttle body. These engines cause grime build up on the throttle body and plate which affects air flow. Make sure your mechanic cleans both the front and back sides of the throttle body, and disconnects the battery while the cleaning is done to allow the computer to reset.

Truck shuts off when AC is turned on and put in drive. RPM idle goes up and down. Truck and AC was working fine until I had water pump replaced

The throttle body needs to be cleaned, when the water pump was replaced the battery was probably disconnected, this reset the computer to factory default settings. Prior to that the computer had learned to operate with the dirty throttle body. The cleaning must include the front and backside of the throttle body, most of the grime build up is on the backside.

I have a 2004 chevy trailblazer and whenever i turn on my a/c or heater it seems my engine losses power and wants to die.

I'm taking a wild guess that you recently unhooked or replaced your battery?

Your problem is a dirty throttle body, and if you do it yourself, can cost you about $5 for the can of throttle body cleaner. Unhook your battery again, and clean the throttle body and butterfly very well, must be shiny. Careful as the butterfly is very sharp. While removing the entire throttle body and cleaning it is best, leaving it bolted on will solve your problem too. When finished, hook your battery back up and drive around for 20 minutes or so with all accessories OFF. During this period, your computer will relearn a properly functioning throttle body.

Your computer learned some bad habits before the battery was unhooked the first time. When it was hooked back up, it thought the throttle body was clean and functioning properly. Cleaning it takes care of this problem. I do mine about once a year.

Chevy Trailblazer 2004 when i recently replaced my battery, and my ac compressor cuts on and off at stoplights and droppes the rpms too low to stay running

The throttle body needs to be cleaned, grime build up in the throttle body and throttle plate prevent the plate from closing completely and stalling the car. While cleaning the TB, disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes and set all HVAC controls to off position or fully counterclockwise. After reconnecting battery, do not touch HVAC controls, turn key to ON position but do not start, wait about 10 minutes then start.
