I own a 2003 yukon denali and i am getting p0300 code which reads random misfire i changed wires and plugs any solutions

Not much.
Code 300 is for a random miss. The engine computer has detected more than one cylinder that is not producing power, but no one cylinder is constant.
Until you get a code like 301 or 303 its a guessing game. 301-306 would tell you which cylinder is being the problem.
The cause could be fuel or spark.

P0300 Diagnostic Code - Random Misfire Technical Description Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected What does that mean? Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly. A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why. Symptoms Symptoms may include: the engine may be harder to start the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate other symptoms may also be present Causes A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: Faulty spark plugs or wires Faulty coil (pack) Faulty oxygen sensor(s) Faulty fuel injector(s) Burned exhaust valve Faulty catalytic converter(s) Stuck/blocked/leaking EGR valve / passages Faulty camshaft position sensor Defective computer Possible Solutions If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. 2002 GMC Yukon XL Denali 6.0 Vtec Was have brake problems and ABS light on so replaced Huds and all rotors and pads then i was on the freeway when the serves Engine soon light came on so I got to my exit...


P0300 indicates a random or multiple cylinder misfire. With the engine running rough unplug one coil at a time while listening for an RPM change or for the engine to run even worse. If there is no change from one or more coils than check those coils for spark. If there is no spark out one of the coils swap it with another coil. if there is still no spark replace the coil.

  • Faulty fuel injector(s)

About the possible solutions, try...
* If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I have a 2003 yukon Problem with the GMC Yukon XL


What size engine ? 4.3 L vortex P0300 random misfire code is usually associated with vacuum leaks , but could also be low fuel pressure , plugged fuel filter , fuel pump problem , clogged injectors etc... doing fuel pressure an flow testing would confirm or eliminate that as a problem . Fuel injector balance testing would confirm or eliminate clogged injectors .

Cylinder 5 and im also getting p0507 idle is higher then expected. ive change plugs wire cap button cam sensor and distributor. but now its throwing the codes p0300 and p0507 it goes from p0300 to p0305...

My 2003 Pontiac Bonneville has a fault code of p0300 random cylindar misfire. How would you go about fixing it?


A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

Rav4 99 P0303 ( random misfire) and P0300 and P0302


Had the same problem on my brothers Rav4. We changed the Plug wires and the problem is corrected. He had changed the plugs a couple of months ago. We had the code read at Advance Auto, it came up P0300 Random misfire. His old wires looked fine also.
