Is it a dual cam engine? If so make sure can gear marks are aligned. Verify distributor is installed correctly set firing order is correct.only two things cause backfiring. Incorrect timing or incorrect plug wire position at distributor cap

Steam comes out of the air vents Hyundai getz

Sounds like the heater matrix has been damaged. Turn the heater to cold to see if still happen. If it stops, took under bonnet/hood to see if its coming out in engine bay.....

I have a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was running good but then all of a sudden it starts running rough. You can be driving down the road and all of a sudden it will die . It will run good for about 10-15...

It could be a dirty idle air control valve located on the throttle body but when you said it backfires after running a while and before stalling, this sounds like a clogged catalytic converter. When blocked they will cause the exhaust manifold to glow red igniting gasses on the exhaust stroke, backfiring. A clogged cat will result in a loss of power as if you are trying to pull a trailer full of rocks uphill.

I have a 2005 kia rio,the car was stalling out, sputtering, backfiring, only when i filled up,i took it to the dealer ,they said it was the purge valve, they replaced it ,when i got the car back,i filled up...

  1. On your Kia, when you fill it up, is when your "backfiring" occurs. No backfires, when air space is in the tank???? When it backfires, does it start to slow down.........(as if LOSS of fuel would do)??......then the backfire?? If so; look for a crushed return line where the purge valve was installed. Number 1, call the "Dealer" that mis-diagnosed it, after all, you pay a "diagnostic fee, not an incompetance fee. Ask for your money back, a repair it RIGHT guarantee. 2, If these do not change matters, the BBB is in your phone book. ('course you could do that to me too) I'm at a dis-advantage, I can't see, of crawl around the car to see anything.

When i turn steering wheel left it makes a knocking noise. and it seems to hum now also. the check engine light came on two weeks ago saying the EGR needed something i believe

the "EGR" velve is there so the engine can **** back into it some of the exuast gases at tick over,,,and reburn them,,,and yep,,its a stupid idear!,,if its leaking when above tick over you loos manifold presher off the terbow,,so the car's ECU tells you this,,realy its saying " im felling sick,,,lack of power!" if you took off this silly "EGR" velve you may get away with cleaning it with carb cleaner

My heater stopped working and I replaced the thermostat and checked fuse. What else could it be

if you drained all the water out the engine you may need to bleed the air out of the heater to get it to work right,
look for a plastic bleed velve on a rubber hose it will be high up above the rad or header tank fill rad with water open bleed velve and let water out till no air is in it, top up water in rad,,, do this with a cold engine,,

Fuel pump kicks on, but car won't start If I put fuel in the carb it starts right up, What could be the problem?

have you took the fule pipe off from the card to see if fule is getting to it? it could also be a blocked fule filter,, or an "emergency stop velve" in the closed poshion,, or even a blocked or sticking carburettor float velve???? if the pump is pumping fule to the carb its got to be inside the carb thats fulty?
