SOURCE: How to remove and replace front left cv axle shaft on 2008 Jeep Patriot

It is too lengthy a process to explain here...have you looked elsewhere online for a video showing you what to do? Look up "Replacing 2008 Jeep Patriot axle shaft" and you'll get something. I'm assuming you have some of the tools you'll need to do this like ratchets, sockets, jack, supports to hold the vehicle while being worked on, etc.

Hey I have a 2008 jeep patriot can push gas pedal to the floor & jeep barely goes 5 miles an hour. Is this the transmission

only if the engine rpm increase with pedal position
Then only if it is a manual transmission in which case the clutch is slipping and that is a clutch master cylinder /cable problem
then only if it is an automatic with no oil in the transmission
only then if it is a CV transmission where the incorrect oil has been used in the CV transmission and if that is the case then it will be a transmission only

Front end rotation noise

It should have been thoroughly checked. Noises like these on four wheel drives could several different things. A bearing, CV axle, or the differential, or bearings in the differential. A wheel bearing will make different sounds when making a turn. A CV axle is a constant sound. Differential bearings can come and go, depending on if it is a bearing for the axle or a pinion bearing. Axle side bearings usually make a constant noise. The differential can also come and go. Depends on acceleration or slowing down. All these sounds are also with a vibration. Slight to harsh.

2008 jeep patriot wiring has gone haywire. took

Open the power distribution center box near the battery and remove the asd relay that should shut it down. as for the problem itself, it could be a bad relay, a bad ignition switch or some odd ball thing that needs testing to find.
Good luck!

Single knock sound from dead stop or when slowing down

I had the same problem on a brand new 2008 JEEP Patriot. The solution after 2 trips to the dealer was to tighten all the suspension bolts in the front. Note wether your problem is in the front or rear and go to the dealer.
