SOURCE: Refilling transmission fluid - manual 5-speed.

dextron mercron 3, automatic transmission fluid. Mostly standard on fords and others for both auto and manual trans. Underneath the air intake pipe, at the rear right hand side there is a 4 prong plug for the speed sensor. Its electronic so there wont be any cable, its a round sensor with a horizontal plug on the end of it. Take a flat head screwdriver and pry the 2 holding prongs off the wiring harnes. then get a #10 socket 1/4in drive with exstinsions works best take out the bolt going right with the rachet. once you get it out just pull and twist the sensor out. It seems to be easier with a hose at the end of the funnel to pour the fluid in. stick the hose where the speed sensor was. once its full just assemble it back the way it was.

SOURCE: fill transmission fluid on 19999 audi a4

LISTEN CLOSE. THERE IS A PLUG ON PAN. REMOVE IT. WITH A SYRINGE TYPE CANISTER YOU NEED TO INJECT THE FLUID INTO IT UNTIL IT STARTS TO COME OUT. THEN CAREFULLY START VEHICLE AND INJECT ANOTHER 3/4 QUART UNLESS IT STARTS TO COME OUT OR EVEN A QUART.LET IT RUN FOR 5 MINUTES THEN CONTINUE TO INSERT UNTIL IT OVERFLOWS AND TIGHTEN THE PLUG BACK TO THE PAN. i WOULD ONLY USE AUDI VOLKSWAGON FLUID AND YES IT CAN RUN $14 TO $18 A LITER

SOURCE: how can i check to transmission fluid level in 2005 ford explorer

Does not have a dip stick.

Start the vehicle set park brake

In the side if the transmission oil pan a bigger bolt with a small bolt in the center.

Remove smaller center bolt trans fluid should drip out at a fairly constant rate if not its low.

Hope this tip helps.

I need to know if the whole transmission needs to be taken out to change the transmission screen in a 98 mercury mystique? if not were is it located/

To change the filter it is located on the bottom of the transmission under the transmission pan. It looks kind of like the oil pan but of course on the transmission. Once you remove the pan, you will have to unbolt the transmission filter, from there you can replace. Make sure to drain the fluid first or you are going to make a huge mess. If your transmission dues not have a drain plug, then remove the fill bolt, and evacuated the fluid that way.

MI have a 2000 ford mustang and need to check or fill the transmission fluid where do I find this? It is a manual transmission.

naughtyon904, Most manual transmissions have a drain plug (on the botttom) and a fill plug (on the side ) of the transmissions. You need to raise the vehicle with ramps and visually check the transmission. Find the fill plug and remove it. With your finger check the level of the oil. It should be at the top of the fill hole. Also, check with your local dealer to find out exactly what is in the transmission as it is usually gear oil and not transmission fluid that is used. They can tell you the exact weight of the oil to be used and if there are any additives. Good luck with this.

Transmission warning light coming on,possible problems are low oil pressure or no oil pressure how do i check which one it is and fix it? Thankyou

If you have an Automatic transmission. Lift the hood. Locate the Transmission dip stick. Start the engine and let the engine warm up some. then check the fliud level on the dip stick. On a Manual Transmission, locate the transmission under the vehicle and the fill plug (upper) and drain plug (lower) on the transmission. Remove the fill plug (upper) and see if fluid runs out. If no fluid runs out, add recommeded transission fluid until the fluid starts running out, the replace fill plug..

I can't find where to put my transmission fluid in my 98 chevy cavalier. Please help.

On the cavaliers the transmission fluid does not have a separate fill location from the Check stick. To fill this just take a long funnel and fill it in the dipstick check hole

Where is transmission fluid located? Where is stick to check?

Transmission fluid is located inside the transmission fluid pan. It is checked and added through the fill tube. The dipstick is located under the hood. You have two dipsticks, one for engine oil and one for transmission fluid. On some models, the dipstick for the transmission fluid may be located under the engine cover in the cab of the van between the driver's and front passenger's seats. If you simply cannot find two dipsticks under the hood, it's under the engine cowl.

How do i fill my transmission?

There is a fill plug on the side of the transmission, towards the driver's side fender. You have to have the car on ramps, engine running and begin filling. When you start dribbling fluid back out at you, then you are topped off. Recommend having someone start the car while you are ready to begin filling (but not under the car for safety's sake), that way you are not running the engine for too long without the tranny having fluid in it.

How replace transmision fluid

Fluid type is Dexron ,there is a drain plug and a fill plug on the underside of the transmission. you need to use the fill plug. You can not fill the transmission fluid or check the level, any other way. You have what is known as a sealed transmission

Adding transmission fluid to 98 pontiac sunfire

There is a plug located on top of the transmission under the brake master cylinder. It is held in place by a bolt on the side of the transmission near the firewall. Remove the bolt, then remove the plug. Fill it until the fluid comes out of the hole.

Transmition not shifting

HI. I would check the TCM(transmission control module), this device transfers the initiated actions from the shifter to the solenoids in the transmission. if the TCM is good, i would check the solenoids in the transmission pan to see if they are working properly. Depending on the model, your transmission may be sealed but, if it isn't, i would recommend checking the fluid level as well.

Please rate and have a great day:)
