Replacing 1987 Chevy Nova Thermostat

Look for a hose extending from the top of the radiator to a round housing atop the engine. Removal of the housing cap screws will reveal the thermostat. Note the mounting orientation of the thermostat to avoid installing the replacement upside down. Remove the old thermostat and gasket. You may have to scrape the old gasket off. Place the replacement gasket and thermostat in position and reinstall the housing cap screws and tighten securely. Start your Chevy and check for leaks..

drive car till normal temp is reached. loosen all plugs quickly, but carefully, by spraying the base of each plug with a water bottle. this should release the threads enough to unstick the plugs.

My car temp dosnt go up idk if the thermostats stuck shut or not??if how do i unstick it?

if the temp gage doesn`t go up you could have a gage problem or even a coolant sensor problem that works the gage only and not the one that sends a signal to the pcm to turn on the cooling fans and monitor the engine temperature,if it is the thermostat then it will be stuck open and the only way to correct the problem is to replace the thermostat other wise it can stick open again or closed causing the engine to overheat.

How do I change or unstick my thermastat in my 1997 tahoe?

Just follow the top radiator hose to the engine and find the bell or ball shaped housing, You don't have to remove the hose, but you want to catch the coolant, pull the 2 bolts out and have a new thermostat and gasket ready, use no sealant, the thermostat cannot be fixed just replaced, Get the recommended temp, 165 or whatever, you should be all set, put the coolant back in. Hope this helps.

I need to replace a starter in a 95 Chevy Beretta and dont know how or where to find out how, im at the Library

If you can locate the starter, on the side of the engine block, you can tap
it with a hammer or stick to try and unstick the solenoid. Ask someone
that can locate your starter, and help. Assuming your starter, is actually
the issue. Good luck.

Vechile is overheating I believe the thermostat is stuck close

Hi, there isnt really a way to unstick it. The thermostat has a wax pellet that expands when it is operating causing the spring inside to open the thermostat letting the coolant flow properly. All you can really do just replace the thermostat, its a simple job as well
