Question about Cars & Trucks
Hi.. im changing the head gasket in a 1994 holden barina swing 1.4L. Ive realised the head looks to be two pieces.. which part do i seperate? the part above the spark plugs or the whole two blocks together? thanks....
You need to take the top off to get to the head bolts inside. top is cam cover. then it is the head.

There should be a cable that runs from the back of your speedometer to the transmission. If you look on the engines side of the firewall you should be able to track it....it is one of very few cables that run into the transmission. NOTE: its a little thicker than most. At the transmission there will be a fastener of some sort holding it in. Unscrew it and check the end of the cable. If all seems well try attaching a drill to that end and have a buddy look at the gage to see if it shows speed when the drill is running ...if not then its either broken in the middle somewhere or came unhooked from behind the guage....if it does show speed then it was either not seated correctly to the transmission or the plastic tip (looks like plastic gear) on the transmission side of the cable it worn down too far. That tip is interchangeable for if you get bigger/smaller tires.

Please check the oil pressure transducer , check and replace the oil filter. Also check if there is connection issue of the oil pressure switch. since the ECU has not detected any faults it can be associated with some external problems. Check also the ground to the panel and the cluster connections on the dash.
