Question about 1996 Volkswagen Jetta
Well if it grinds when trying to get into reverse the clutch is not disegageing all the way. the cable could be worn out,the release bearing could be worn out or the push rod cold be worn out or in my case it was all 3 but mine has 250000 on it. Worst case if all of that is ok then the pushrod bushing is worn and you need to drop the tranny for that so you might as wee just replace the cluth too.
But if it grinds while IN reverse then the reverse
gears are shot. Hows the gear lube?
