SOURCE: need location of the erg sensor 2000 ford ranger

The egr valve has two sensors. One is an EGR position sensor which is physically attached to the EGR valve. The other sensor is the DPFE (Delta Pressure Feedback EGR) sensor, commonly called the EGR pressure sensor. It's location varies depending on the engine you have. You can fine this sensor by following the vacuum hose on the EGR valve. It will be with in inches of the EGR valve. The sensor will be black (plastic) or silver (metal), have two or three vacuum ports and an electrical connection on it.

The vacuum pressure sensor is a high failure item on fords. Any Ford parts department will have one in stock, as well as some aftermarket parts stores.

The new sensor may not look exactly the same as the old part, but will have all the hook ups as the old one. You may also need to replace the vacuum hose to the sensor as well

Where is the crankshaft position sensor located on a 1996 ford ranger 4cyl 2.3 ? Thanks Bob

is located at lower right front of the engine. down of the timing belt area. to remove this sensor you have to remove serpentine belt, the alternator. the lower radiator hose, the heater hose, and the water inlet when you remove the water inlet (two bolts) you are going to see the crankshaft sensor. remove the connector, the bolt, and pry it out. when you install the crankshaft sensor don't tight more of 7 foot pounds .

What are the top most common causes for the injectors on a 2001 ford ranger to not fire/mis-fire

1. Fuel (ethanol) clogging
2. Sensor (crankshaft or camshaft) mis-communication...bad sensor or signal to computer
3. Electrical harness (age cracking, corrosion)
4. Fuel filter clogged, not sending proper fuel pressure
5. Fuel pressure too low (fuel pump)

Not necessarily in order...but start with fuel, move to electrical inspection, then sensor...unless you have a CEL code to start with first.

Where is the ignition module control located on 1996 ranger 2.3 e

It does not have an ignition control module. The PCM (powertrain control module) fires the coil pack based on signal it recieves from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.
