Traction control light comes on while driving in good weather
Traction control light comes on while driving and acceleration from stop is sluggish, tried restarting car at stops with acceleration back to normal but sluggishness still returns when light comes on again while driving...do I need to replace ABS/TCS module, wheel speed sensors, or just remove fuse relay and just not have ABS/TCS...can you help

My 2002 Millenia just started doing this the other day, while on the freeway when it started doing it i would shut engine off and restart it and it would be good for a while then it would do it again, i am still looking for solution, has any one found one?

How this system works:
Traction control uses wheel speed sensors to detect when one or more of the car's wheels lose grip and traction. When the system registers a loss of traction in one or more of the wheels, a computer will limit power to the wheels that are still in solid contact with the road to prevent a skid.
Common reasons for this to happen:
ABS is malfunctioning: Traction control and ABS (anti-lock braking system) often share the same control module and internal self-diagnostics system. As a result, sometimes an issue in the ABS can trigger the traction control light. If this is the case, then both the ABS and Traction Control lights will be on.
Broken wheel speed sensors: Wheel speed sensors are usually in the wheel bearing assembly, and determine the rate at which each wheel is moving. The sensors relay that information to the traction control module, which determines whether or not power needs to be shifted. Wheel speed sensors can get dirty or damaged and stop working, which prohibits the traction control module from knowing when to enable the system.Traction control module is faulty: The traction control module - which, again, is often shared with the ABS - can malfunction and break altogether, causing the system to stop working.

How important is this service?

ECS is electronic controlled stability. It works with traction control when it is slippery and it does cause what you describe. It reduces the power to the engine and drive train. IT could be from ice build up on wheel sensors.
sounds like failed wheel speed sensors. you can get around this by turning off traction control until you can get em fixed. If you hold in the the traction control button, it should shut the system down
Probably all related , all these systems are interrelated .One won't work without the other. Could have a problem with the TAC system - electronic throttle control . Your best bet , take it an have the computers checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Do you know anything about automotive electronic's ,serial data communication networks ?
you can check weather the traction control is working by putting the car in first gear and with one wheel on grass and the other on tarmac pull away as fast as you can.you should feel the power drop and when both wheels match each other for rotation a clean acceleration will occur.i.e.the car will not pull toward the tarmac...and spin on the grass.as this is part of the abs system it could be your brakes are due for renewal.they have wear indicators...take a wheel off and look through the caliper end, over 1/8th inch is just about the lowest to go.
The Enhanced Traction System (ETS) is designed to limit wheel slip during acceleration. This objective is accomplished by cutting fuel to selected cylinders, retarding spark and upshifting the transmission. The EBCM monitors wheel speed slip through the ABS wheel speed sensors and determines the desired torque reduction needed to minimize wheel spin.
the wheel speed sensor may be bad
Well the fact that the traction light came on and blinked off when taking off is a good thing, it just means that your traction control is working properly. When that light comes on it means that one wheel was spinning and that the car adjusted the speed of the drive wheels to compensate. The car not starting needs to be addressed as to whether the car is turning over slowly, clicking, or making no noise at all. The check engine light will remain on until the vehicle is started, so that does not correlate to your problem. If it clicks, or turns over sluggishly, then it just needs a jump start and a test of the battery. If the lights come on, but the car does not turn over al all, then you may need to look at replacing a starter.
this must be a 2.3 miller cycle. it is going into "limp home" mode. when this happens, it wont rev over about 3k, and tcs off/tcs lites come on. it feels a lot like fuel cut. probably the check engine lite is also on, and what codes are stored? most common is P1525/26 and 1540, which are the solenoids that control the abv. the abv controls boost, and when this valve is not working proplerly, the pcm stops communication with tcm, and it goes limp home. if you can locate the solenoids, they are on the back of the engine, right next to the egr valve. from right to left, you need to look at the second and forth. you need to ohm them when they are hot. normal is around 26. if they are over 30, or 0, they are bad. there are other possibilities, but this is most common
Traction control helps limit tire slip in acceleration on slippery surfaces. In the past you had to feather the gas pedal to prevent the drive wheels from spinning wildly on slippery pavement. Many of today's vehicles employ electronic controls to limit power delivery for the driver, eliminating wheel slip and helping the driver accelerate under control. Don't turn it off.
