Question about 2003 Toyota Sienna

1 Answer

Tried to start toyota sienna xle, barely started then suddenly *poof* shut off. Flutters as it if wants to start, but won't turn over. Husband pumped the gas (after I told him not too worried he'd flood it and continued to do so three more times-OY-seriously). Waiting for tow after taking two kids back to hotel in cab. Yay vacation. I told him to try it again after waiting sometime so in case it was floods, it could drain. There's ample gas, and battery is fine. Fuel pump?

Check the oil, the low oil sensor will disable the ignition if more than a quart low. When on vacation (touring) , check oil often. Pumping the gas pedal with modern fuel injection will not flood the engine, it does not work that way.

SOURCE: 1995 toyota camry-stalling out when driving

You do not have to replace the fuel pump at a specific mileage.
I hate to speculate without physically inspecting the vehicle, but, my best solution here & now may be the fuel pump. Now, I would not go out & buy one before you had proper diagnosis. Here is one test, but you will need to have to experience the stall again, and then test to see if you have fuel pressure at the injectors. If you have no fuel pressure, replace the pump. Fuel filter issues do not "come & go", they stay, and your car would not run properly. Also, a fuel pump failure will not set a computer code on this particular model vehicle. Hope this helps..

SOURCE: 2004 Toyota Sienna LE sliding door failed after battery jumpstart

could very well be the relay for the power door and possibly the interior light relay... they are located in the fuse panel under the dash.

SOURCE: GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF WHILE PUMPING GAS INTO 2002

The problem has to do with air venting from the tank while filling. If the air can't get out of the tank, fuel can't get in. So there is a problem with your tank venting the air.

Your going to need a repair shop to
find out what problems you created

In the future DO NOT Jump any vehicles

Use a battery charger or replace a failed battery

Jumping any vehicle made from 1996 on ,can ruin

The power door lock and wireless key transmitter suddenly stopped working on my toyota 2002 sienna xle. I'm looking for a way to fix this.

Look for the power locks (power) fuse in the cabin fuse by the steering column, if that fuse is ok, you may have a body ecu problem.

Brakes are making loud grinding noise when slowing down to stop or on an incline

Ok, it could be a few things, 1. bad break caliper. 2. if you have ceramic breaks, it could be a cracked brake pad, and if they are not ceramic they can still be cracked. 3. if you drive a lot then it could be that you need new breaks again.. 4. also have your back breaks checked along with the front ones..
