Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. There are three bolts holding it down to the engine and a plug for the coolant temp sensor in the sAme housing.

The normal operating temperature is 210 deg. If it is below that, you may have a stuck open thermostat.

Are there 2 different coolant senors in a 2005 chevy trailblazer

Not for the I6 engine. The one is located 2" above the thermostat.....bottom of engine behind the drivers side tire. PITA to do, need to remove the alternator and bracket to access it.

How to i change thermostat in 2005 trailblazer

The thermostat is located behind and slightly below the alternator on the drivers side. For the best access to the thermostat, you should unbolt and move the alternator to reach the upper bolt. The lower Thermostat bolt can be reached by taking off the front drivers side tire and reaching in with a 24" extension. The actual bolts are 10mm. Hope this helps...

Change the coolant temperature sensor. If the code is still there, change the thermostat, it might be stuck open causing the engine to run cooler than it should.

Sounds like your water pump is going out or your thermostat is stuck. Check the thermostat first and make sure it is not frozen in the clsed position.
