The cooling fan isn't comeing on.....either the fan is bad or the temp censor that controls the fan.

Check the fuse and relay for the cooling fan before it overheats again so you don't blow the head gasket on the motor. After you replace the fuse/relay let it idle keeping an eye on the temperature gauge, make sure as it reaches a little over half way the cooling fan should come on. If it does'nt then your coolant temp sensor may be at fault. Good luck and be safe.

Find a reputable mechanic who is honest and reasonable as far as pricing. It is difficult to say how much it will cost because I would have to look at the vehicle to evaluate what is wrong. Ask a neighbor for some help before you take it to a shop. Keep me posted please. Best of luck

Why does my car Overheat?

Possible thermostat faulty, Thermostat automatic, stays shut, till water reaches correct temp, if it goes faulty, (ie) does not open after reaching running temp, water will not circulate, so engine overheats

2002 pt cruiser that was overheating, found out it was the radiator. Now it wont go over 35 mph and is overheating again too Could it be a censor. Sometimes the speedometer will work sometimes it wont

does it have a thermostat in the cooling system. Just a suggestion.
This is a device that opens a valve when the cooling system gets too hot and accesses more water for cooling. If it gets stuck off then the car would overheat once it has been running for a while.

Overheating in traffice

sounds like your cooling fan isn't working at high speed the air will cool the engine but when your at low speeds there isn't enough air to do so so i would check your cooling fan that is more than likely your problem hope this helps.

You may have air in the system, find the highest spot in the cooling system .Try open a hose and if there is a bleeder opening that.If it overheating at low speeds it is a water flow problem(volumn). I would suspect a bad water pump or a thermostat stuck partially open. The timing belt drives water pump and if it is loose then that could be a problem.if you replaced the radiator because of rust then the blades on water pump could be worn.Rust is abrasive.

Electric fan on radiator is goofing off. chk if it comes on at all but watching gauge and listening for fan start uo just above operating trmp. Fan helps cool under 35 mph. Forced air cools over 35 mph.
