SOURCE: Where is the horn located on a 1999 Porsche 996 -

You can find the horn on the leftside (face to the car) underneath the protectionshield. If you have small hands you can dismount it form there (not easy).Otherwise you have to take off the bumper.

SOURCE: Horn goes off on Porsche boxster when paying

that would mean that the wiring is shorted together under the fuse/ relay box or one of your friends wired them together as a prank seen it befor. the easy way to confirm that its the problem is take a ohm meter and go to the fuse box and put one led on the fuse for the brake switch and the other led on the fuse for the horn and see if there is resistance the shouldnt be any at all

On 2002 olds Intrigue, installing new horns but as soon as wires are plugged in horn honks . Removed horn fuse and relay but horn still honks .when pushing horn button ,with no horns, the relay clicks

You may have wires that have become crossed. The wire to the horn and a hot wire have probably lost the outer insulation and crossed each other causing the horn to start honking when it is connected. Check the wires with an electrical tester.

Horn goes off even when not depressed, seems to happen when you put the breaks on, but not every time?

hello there
i asume you have a boxter or 911 2000 and up?
It is a common problem. You will need to replace the whole horn button to fix it or you can try this.
The horn button has two hex bolts holding it to the steering wheel.Once you lose these bolts you can remove it away a little bit !!!but very carefully so you don`t disconect the air bag connector!!! I used to put behind a little soft foam so the horn button does not touch the horn connectors in breaking or on street bumps.
let me know

Where is the horn located on a 1999 Porsche 996 - I think I have a short in it as if you hit a bump hard enough it will quickly honk

My daughter's horn on her 1996 Plymouth Breeze has started honking the horn every time she turns a corner or hits a bump. How can we disconnect the horn to stop this annoying and illegal action?

I would get a horn button (Like they used years ago) and mount it to the dash. You will have to find the ground wire that comes from the steering column though.

2000 Tahoe Horn broken

You can remove the horn relay and use a Ohm meter and check the resistance between the horn relay connector terminal No. 86 (Black Wire) and ground. If the ohms are less then 5 ohms replace the horn relay. There are a lot more tests but as Polarcycle states you can do what he suggested other then I believe you have two horns in this vehicle.

1992 Dodge Ram 50: Horn honks all by itself.

Check the horn actuating contact at the centre of the steering wheel. It may be damaged or mis-aligned.
Also check the carbon contact that runs on the slip ring under the steering wheel (associated with steering wheel horn actuate switch) It may be damaged or mis-aligned.

If none of the above are faulty, you should look for a possible intermittent short to ground on the horn actuation control wiring.
