1999 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter shuts off sometimes

there is a body control module that runs all that. it is the fuse box. you may need to relplace it

look at the cars vin# on the door panel. the 99 model it will tell you what month and year the car was made such as 06/1999 if the 1999 model was made from 06/99 not before but 06/99 and above the engines will fit. also check the bolt patterns on the transmissions and starter location on each motor to see if in the same locations. if all match,they will interchange. thank you for choosing fixya.com

yes the engine is the same but you will probably have to use the enginge wiring harness and ecm (or computer) from 1999 intrepid to ensure that there will be no engine performance problems

They are pretty reliable. Transmissions sometimes have problems and battery changing, etc isnt easy. I have had 2 concordes and 2 intrepids, as well as a van from chrysler and for the most part they are fine except the transmissions. have had to change the transmission in 2 of the cars and the van (which takes a different one). Crank and cam sensors

I recently had the same problem. I have a 1999 Intrepid. I changed the Camshaft position sensor and tha crankshaft position sensor. I haven't had anymore of those problems.

Make sure you are using an original key. I made a copy of my key, and the copy will not work. It will start, but then shut off. Appearantly there is a chip or something in the original.

look for 1 inch black boxes near the top of your engine pull up on them plugs should be there
