The window track is worn. This is a plastic strip that runs through a gear on the motor and raises and lowers the window. replace it.

Window is separated from the top.The window is not broken. Top is in good shape.

If you are talking that the wound up window glass is not touching on the hood part the you will have to adjust the glass runner to make it do so. This can be done by winding the window down and gently pulling the runner out a bit until it is right or removing the door trim and adjusting the mount blots inside the door.

HOW TO REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL FROM 2000 BMW 328I

Hi,
1.You need to replace the window regulator (lifting mechanism). Hope you have some tools. Leave your car outside so the sun can warm the door you'll work on.
2.You need to remove the wood finisher by the inner door handle (we use a nylon pry stick made by a company called CR Lawrence item #216) release the two screws behind it.

3.Carefully lever out the window switch and disconnect connector.
4. Remove screw (T-20 torx). Remove the two screws at the bottom of the arm rest. Use your pry tool between the door panel and door to pop the door clips around the perimeter of the door.
5.Pull the door handle up and away to remove the top portion of the panel.
6.Remove the door handle cable from the cable side and speaker connector.

7. Use a razor blade and carfully remove the foam vapor barrier top and both sides WITHOUT tearing the soft foam (it keeps water out of the rear footwell during rain). Don't take the bottom of the barrier off unless you are replacing it. You can get the sticky black sealer at your BMW parts center when you get your parts.

8.Remove the three T-30 torx on the window motor, twist and remove. Cut the window regulator cable so you can move the window at will. Remove the 8mm bolt that clamps the window to the regulator. There is a metal nut that fits into the back of the plastic clip on the window glass. The nut likes to fall out when removing bolt.
9.Unclip the glass out of the regulator and manually push window up to top of window channel. Grab some masking tap and run several strips on the outside of the glass-over the top of the door- and back onto the inside of the glass to hold it up while you work on the regulator.

10.Remove the three 10mm nuts and remove regulator. Replace the nuts with three improved ones part number 07 14 7 153 450 .

11.Replace LR Regulator 51 35 8 212 099 .

12.Reinstall all in reverse order. Make sure your vapor barrier seals well. Make sure all door panel clips are in the door correctly before popping on door panel.

Good luck!

I just go locked out of my X5 BMW 2002 x5 and my

right i had this ***** of a problem 2nd week in jan 2010. a bmw mechanic told to jack car up at front and hook a jumper pack up to live on starter motor terminal and then earth, was quite hard to put croc clip on to starter but did manage it. this was supposed to back charge to battery to get enough power to open car with remote, in theory it should of worked but i gave up after 3 hours-no power. so i got my key put it in drivers door and mechanically turned to open position, then i got a cutlery knife from kitchen and wrapped some insulation tape around tip up 2-3 inches. then i pushed this down glass directly above door handle key end to pry a gap between glass and rubber just enough to slide coat hanger wire in with small hook on end then i manouvered wire hook until i hooked latch arm which i did within 1 minute pulled coathanger wire up and pulled door handle the door opened much to my delight. this was a major sigh of relief after trying for 2 days to get in, and many hours searching the net for a solution which i couldnt find. THIS WORKS 100 percent WITH ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE!!!!!!! any questions email me- jimanddiane@live.co.uk

I have a 2002 Liberty Sport, the right side back passenger window will not go up. I can hear the motor work in both directions but the glass stays inside the door. How do I get the door cover off so I can...

The window has likely come off the track. DO NOT roll the window up or down as it may scratch the glass inside the door. Their in a few screws and some body panel plugs to pull out. They make a special tool for this. I just give her a good yank, If they break don't worry they sell new ones at the dealer and most parts stores.

04 Ford ranger door glass replacement diagram anyone have one?

Go to the public library or buy a service manual at the auto parts store for your truck. You should buy one if you plan to keep the truck a long time. If no manual can be found. You have to roll the window all the way down and remove the window crank and the door handle so the door panel can be removed. then remove the window mechanism from the door. Then install the new glass into the frame and tighten the screws (not too tight) the glass will brake. Tape and paper the new glass for protection and then re-install the same way it came out. Put the rest of the parts back together.

REPLACIND DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR

Pull out window crank and door handle, remove panel, remove plastic Nylon that's between metal and panel, crank the window down enough to see the arm and the part that connects with glass. Make sure the metal part inside the door that comes from an arm and attaches to glass is clean, from broken glass and the gap that attaches to window is clean, bend the new glass to make it fit inside the opening slide down the new glass from the top using opening guides, grave it from both sides standing in between and make land on top center of the part that graves the glass, put automotive glass silicone on center of that part, just at where graves the glass, let dry, put the plastic back the door panel the window crank with the "U" shaped lock washer and the door handle, I hope I was clear

Window damage

Sounds like the window regulator inside the door has failed. If you feel confident enough remove the door pad and take a look. Alternatively get your local mechanic to take a look for you it is not a major job.
