I have a 1999 honda civic but my gas light wont come on when fuel level gets low. What do I need to check or replace?

Could be that the low fuel lights bulb in your instrument panel is dead. You can make sure of this when you put your key into "on" but not starting your car to see if the light come on. If not, then the bulb is dead, if it does, then check any fuse related to your fuel pump. If everything is good, then your low fuel level sensor that is part of the fuel pump assembly is bad, and needs replacement.

Over drive light blinking and having problems shifting

Although the overdrive band is a low wear band it does wear. Your transmissions overdrive feature is not working now, thats what the blinking is all about. What will happen is your fuel economy will be greatly reduced until its repaired.
This type of repair is beyond the scope of a DIYer. I strongly suggest that you take the vehicle to an ASE certified Transmission Shop. This vehicle will cost you at the fuel pumps w/o this feature as well as other transmission wearing.

1999 VW Passat low idle

replace your fuel filter first. If that does not do it, then try an air-flow meter. (if the check engine light is on it may be an airflow meter.

Fuel injectors or Distributor Cap?

the blinking CEL light is an indication of a miss-fire, run the code retrival test to find out what cylinder is the one missing, at your miles it could be almost anything from a low compression issue to a bad distributor cap, a fuel injector could be the problem, run the test and get back to me, Kragen and other chain parts stores will test the system for codes for FREE!
