My brake lights work intermitantly with jiggling the hazard switch on the steering column

The hazard switch is problematic on many GM vehicles. Find an aftermarket replacement, and change it out. The solder joints on them would crack with exposure to cold and heat differentials.

Suggest you change hazard flasher 'can' first, then go to the hazard switch. I'm betting it's the flasher can.

Flasher on the front turn signal

I also have the blinker problem, but have found a temporary solution. I thought that I could press the hazard button numerous times to get the blinkers to work, but was just lucky the few times that I tried. I have actually lodged a piece of paper on the right side of the hazard switch and this has done the trick. The easiest way to replace the hazard switch is to go through the AC vent directly above the radio. There are two clips holding the vents to the dashboard. One is on the top and one is on the bottom directly in the middle. The hardest part is trying to disengage the hazard switch from its holster of sorts. The part should cost about 50-70 dollars and will fix your problem.
