Question about 1991 Jeep Wrangler
The outer door handle on my pass side is starting to have a latch problem. The latch will jump over the are that it is supposed to me moving to open the door. I am sure all I need to do is bend the latch a little to repair it. I'm sure it started the problem because the mechanism started to gunk up & I took it apart and lubed it up. It now works fine, but the latch is bent so it does not work correctly. So I need to remove the outter door handle to bend the latch back to where it should be. Does anyone know how to remove it?
The handle is held in place by two vertical wedges on both sides of the handle. To remove just force the wedges up with a hammer and screwdriver (be careful of the glass). Putting them back in is very difficult. I would suggest making the bends or adjustments with it installed so you'll know exactly how much you need. I hope this helps.
