Run fault codes to check for misfiring codes . There is a misconception that the spark plugs have to be changed but as the modern cars run an extreme voltage spark that has virtually no current flow the spark plugs do not have to be change out . If you spend more dollars on platinum plugs they will out last the motor

I disconnected the battery cable as part of the spark plug change for bank 1. After reconnecting the battery, the transmission has a delayed shift. what do I do to fix this?

I suggest you call your local dealer . there was no need to unhook the battery just to change spark plugs , as they are onlyhot when the motor is running .

What do i need to put a tune-up on my car

depends on how much you want to spend.

tools you need.....socket set with a 5/8 sparkplug socket, plug gapper tool, and the proper gap
parts you need, sparkplugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter. replace each plug one at a time, change plug wire at same time. there should be no other adjustments needed as its all controlled by computer.

2004 Dodge Dakota V8 that is Idling very rough and the engin stops at times, and the automatic transmission is also not shifting smoothly.

transmission probably needs fluid and filter change. as for the the engine not running smootly, it may be in need of a tune up, you know, changing air filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires... or it could be a weak fuel pump.

I would like to know how to change the spark

FIRST OF ALL YOU HAVE CHANGE SPARK PLUGS WHEN ENGINE IS COOL.IF YOU CHANGE THEM WHILE ENGINE IS HOT YOU COULD DAMAGE THE ALUMINUM HEADS OR CAUSE DISTORTION.TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS YOU NEED A SPARK PLUG SOCKET.A TORQUE WRENCH.ITS NOT MANDATORY.BUT IT WILL KEEP YOU FROM OVER TIGHTEN SPARK PLUGS.YOU NEED A 3/8 RATCHET AND EXTENSION.YOU ALSO NEED A SPARK PLUG GAP GAUGE.AND SPARK PLUG BOOT PULLER.YOU ALSO NEED SOME ANTI SEIZE COMPOUND.TO PREVENT DAMAGE THREADS WHEN INSTALLING THE SPARK PLUGS.

Need to know where spark plugs are located in order to change

Follow the spark plug wires down into the engine, a soft tug should pull the wire loose from the plug and then you will need a spark plug socket to change them.

2001 Ford Expedition Blew Spark Plug, fixed that now won't shift.

On the trans you have a shifting module that might need replace just make sure that the shifting lever is aline with the mark on the shifting module.(Drivers side)
As far as the plug goes you can so thread lock tight to keep it in.

Car is bucking when shifting

It could be 2 things. I just had the same problems. I changed the spark plug wires to get rid of the bad idling and the trouble light. Also check the trans fluid level if it's an automatic, mine was low and the shifting was real jerky it could do the same if there is too much fluid. It's as smooth as silk now.
