You may be able to turn the light off by using a scanner. sometimes the light comes on just because you use the system it may also go off after 20 or 50 starts You may also have a damaged part keeping the light on.
2 different problems
check engine light = need to have scanned
2 anti-lock and trac light are linked and could be related. yes spining tire can cause trac light to come on
I was told that sometimes this light goes on if you hit a hard bump in the road, etc. Disengage the battery, wait a few minuets, and reattach. This "reboots" it and it worked on mine. If it still comes on, take it to the mechanic - brake issues.
This is related to the anti-lock and/or traction control system. May be a controller but most likely one of the front hub sensors is bad. Modern cars mostly use a sealed hub instead of the old timken taoer bearing system of years past. The hub is not difficult to change if you are handy and they can be found relatively inexpensive on the internet.
Your anti lock brakes have become history, the light is going to stay on, because the brakes are gone. You still have brakes, but you don't have the anti lock device. Most cars give out in the rear, and most people do not get them fixed, expensive. They just put tape over the light and drive. I took the bulb out of the dash, have never had a braking problem, been years. But I didn't tell you what to do, just what I did. Hope this helps.
when anti lock light is on the system goes into disable mode.Go to any repair shop where they can pull code's or better yet go to autozone they will do it for free, I have found that 9 out of 10 time's it's going to be wheel speed sensor to your A.B.S system, good luck, hope this was very helpful.
This is most likely a problem with your Passlock anti-theft system which is known issue with these cars. Passlock is a "passive" anti-theft system, which means that it will disable your ability to start the car if it thinks there is a problem. The three components that can cause this are: 1) Ignition Switch, 2) Ignition Cylinder, 3) Body Control Module (computer). The dealer is the only one who can solve this problem (unless you can bypass it, but it is not that easy). Estimated repair from most dealers is $800 and up.
