Since you have not provided the model of your 72 Dodge you might want to do a google/bing search on your 72 Dodge (Dart, Challenger, Charger or whatever) and search 72 dodge 340 coil diagram select your model and it will provide a diagram for your model... Hope it helps...

SOURCE: wiring ignition system, hall effect electronic ignition system. ignition coil, pick-up coil no spark at the coil or the distributor cap. any idea or perhaps a diagram of the wiring. it's a 1991

Check that the engine immobiliser is working correctly because if it isn't it won't allow it to fire.

According to info found online, the wiring for a 1995 F series tach gauge is as follows;

Tach..........Tan/Yellow wire...........at coil connection.

Your truck does have a coil that feeds the distributor, correct?

did you change the main coil and coil wire?if so then check the ing resistor and then the computor box
