Brake problems

from your description , the problem is in the brake booster
nothing should have popped out as boosters either have the link back to the pedal or a rod from the pedal that goes into the booster
the valve as you call it could be the unit that controls the amount of vacuum needed to operate the booster diaphragm and with that not operating correctly you have no boost assist for the pedal

Brake pedal hard halfway hard to stop

Not sure why you have scanner readout, but the most likely culprit in the hard brake pedal/hard to stop category would be a faulty power brake booster.

Why is it so hard to apply brake pedal?

_______power brake booster, check vacuum to booster and the check valve for brake booster. primary symtom is high hard pedal that requires greater then normal pedal pressure to stop car. testing booster= pump brakes several times with engine off to deplete stored vacuum. turn on engine with pushing slightly on brake pedal. you should be able to feel the pedal fade away a bit, and then become firm. But not hard. if you feel nothing at the pedal when engine starts. Brake booster is not working. Good-day! make sure vacuum is going to booster with engine running. it may just be a bad vacuum line or check valve.

Have a 2000 VW Beetle Brake pedal good hard to stop

Possible the check valve on the servo won't work,or you do have a cracked plastic pipe connected from engine manifold to check valve or even after the valve towards the servo and makes the brake pedal strong on application but very hard to stop.

1993 buick lesabre changed the front rotars and pads and now the cars brake pedal is so hard to push down to get car to stop. Mechanic has checked both the front and back brakes and they are fine. T

I would jack up a front wheel and see if pushing on the pedal with the engine running will stop the wheel from turning.
You need to know if the pressure is reaching the wheels, or if the pads and rotors are too slick to stop the car.
Usually if the pedal is hard, the booster is not working or the brakes are glazed.
Can you stop the car with the parking brake ? That only uses the rear brakes.
You may need a second opinion from a different shop.

Brake pedal gets hard when braking, no normal braking

If there is a malfunction in the brake servo assist system, and your assistance is reduced, the brake pedal will become hard and you will need much more pressure on the brake pedal to stop the car.

It is possible that there is a vacuum leak in the brake servo assist system and you are only getting 50% or less assistance when you are applying the brakes.

You need to have the vehicle checked out without delay because if you lose brake assistance entirely it will be very difficult to stop the car.

not sue u have abs on that model
more than likely break booster
best way to check booster is stop truck pump pedal a few time then put your foot on brake pedal and push down this is with truck stopped ,keeping pedal pushed start engine brake pedal should move down more if booster is working check all pipes tp booster

Hard pedal low stopping power

First you need to check the brakes lines and the brake pads must be replaced on your car they may be worn out........ Get it checked from the local service center........
