It will be at the side or under the ac box in the cabin. It will be under the floor carpet and will drain out in the engine compartment next to the gear box of rear of the engine.

Where is the a/c drain tube in a 2008 Chevy Malibu? Getting puddles of water only in the back passenger floorboard.

Hello,
This is a common problem with the 2008 malibu, the problem you are facing is as a result of the fact that the water actually goes out of the vehicle through the drain pipe, and then comes back in from the outside of the pipe, which is due to the turbulence of the air under the hood which actually pushes the water back along the outside of the tube, through the seal and back into the passenger side.

The solution is to apply a seam sealer to surround the outer part of the drain pipe.

normally thermostats are located at the end of where the top radiator hose connects to the intake manifold, there should be at least 2 -3 bolts holding the thermostat housing on, radiator will have to be drained low enough in order to remove the hose, and housing. and thermostat, and gasket.

What is new with the 2008 Malibu cooling system, how do you drain and fill the coolant?

Your Malibu is too new to change the coolant already The coolant is good for 5 years or 150.000 miles, which ever comes first. If oyu are going to replace the coolant, make sure it's the orange coolant and premixed 50/50 water/coolant before refilling the radiator.

To drain the coolant, just disconnect the lower radiator hose. most radiators now don't have a drain plug like the old days. The issue was that the drain plug was breaking since it's plastic or the O rings would break causing fluid to leak from the radiator.

once the radiator is drained, simple reattached the lower radiator hose and refill the system. The other way would be to run the engine till the thermostat opens up and the rest of the coolant in the engine block will make it's way out, but at most you should be fine on to replacing the coolant at the radiator only and then run the engine to ensure you have got all the air out of the system.

Just make sure you replace the radiator cap first before you shut the engine down. It you do shut the engine down first before you place the cap back on, the coolant will blow out.

Thank you for using fixy and be safe.
