Cranks slow start

If your fuel pump is in the gas tank the fuel pump is cooled and lubricated by the gas. If you run out of gas and keep trying to start it many times you can damage the fuel pump. If you have a older car you can try putting a little gas in the carburetor and see if it cranks, if it cranks with gas in carburetor you know it is a lack of fuel problem. You might try spraying starting fluid in air filter but to much can damage your engine. Some links below may provide some help.

Your vehicle fuel pump can run and pump gas but depending on your vehicle you may not have enough fuel pressure to run. I would check your fuel pump fuse and relay and fuel inertia switch/fuel pump kill switch if you have one. I do not know why running out of gas would cause them to fail but it is something to check.

first you should make sure the fuelpump is working properly.you will hear a slight buzz when turning key on without cranking.if not its defective... happened to me with my 1996 blazer...if its good then check fuelfilter

Turn key to on position but don't crank engine over. Turn key to off position. Repeat 5 times .Crank over engine.

if it is a 4.3 v-6 with multiport injection ,it may be the spider unit. try putting gas into the throttle body and see if it starts. if it does than replace the fuel injection unit (spider unit)

i have the same thing going on with my truck i stoped at the store to put gas in and went to crank it up to leave and it would just turn over so i got it towed to my house and started looking up stuff that might make it do that , it turns over fine , after read alot of this stuff on the computer i went and got a Fuel pump no help there so i i got fuel , i have spark at the plugs , so i changed the spider still no luck , can any one give reason it is not cranking , all i can get it to do is turn over ,

I have no idea what you are asking. Start with are you getting fuel . Can you here the pump in the tank for about 5 seconds after you turn key on? Look down where carburetor would be is gas squirting in there when you turn the key and crank. Take off a spark plug wire off plug put an old plug in the wire brake of the bottom electrode and hold it 1/4 inch away from an engine bolt or ground and have some one crank engine should have blue spark.

First. NO CRANK, or CRANKS but doesnt RUN? Does the CK eng light come on with the key on? What is the fuel pressure? It needs to be 60-66PSI if its 55 psi it will not run.

If your engine is cranking really strong make sure you have proper engine timing. If your engine is having a hard time cranking like its cranking really slow. You probably need to check your battery.

97 don't have carb that year its TBI injection . Inspect/fuelpump relay/pressurereg.switch/pump/filter
