Sounds like you have a bad a/c compressor if it is locks up on you you can end up loosing the belt better get it checked out before it leaves you stranded.

I have my Dad's old 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE ( he bought it brand new and always took it to Nissan dealership for everything)' It now has 295000 miles on it, but recently started making a loud rattling sound...

if your chain becomes loose it will become very noisy and should be replaced since most nissans are interference engines which means lots of money for a new engine

When my nissan maxima 2005 is runnig little white smoke is coming from tail pipe

If you have never experience the white smoke before and I am under the assumption that you are the original owner, and depending on your service record of changing the oil as scheduled then the only conclusion I can come up with is the following. You have a very high mileage vehicle and there is a little oil burning. Secondly will be there is a crack in which cooling liquid is entering the engine and making that smoke like that. Good Luck!

Blower Motor fuses keep on blowing. During summer seasons the air has blown from my car with a loud rattling noise until it went kaput and nothing blows at all. I replaced the fuses under the hood...

I believe the ultimate problem is with the blower motor itself. They can get water in them, dirt and general grot. The motor will be on the passenger side up under the dash and will be held in with three screws. You are going to have to remove the motor and examine it.Watch your back,I won't do this job any more because of the way you have to double up.I'm thinking that the blower may have come apart and jammed. Many times you can get replacement blower fans at your local auto shop,or try your local wreckers for a good used one.Nissan will want way too much for this so try these sources first. You can apply direct battery voltage to the old fan to test it but be carefull,if its good it will try to torque out of your hand, and be sure you don't cross any of the wires,it can be a shocking experience( no pun intended) Take your time and good luck.

2002 Nissan Maxima SE - Air condition not blowing cold air

simply "adding a can"is a good way to end up with non-functional A/C. the typical system has high/low pressure switches that enable/disable the system. you need to be at the correct volume of refrigerant as specified on the sticker under the hood. i recommend using the proper equipment, evacuating, pulling a vacuum, and then refilling the system with the appropriate amount.

Air conditioner is not cooling

Are you sure the compressor is engaging? It normally wont engage if the line pressure is to low(meaning the system is out of freon.)
