Testimonial: "Went to two other places who say it is the transmission, but will not know exact problem with transmission until they open transmission. We decided to go with AAMCO, just across the river from us. They estimate between $1700 to 2300, depending on exact problem. They have several reviews on Angieslist.com. I will post the outcome. Thanks for your help. :)"

I'm having the same problem with my 2006 Chevy 2500 duramax...The humming starts at 25mph and then gets less prominent and then at 50mph it gets more prominent and louder, then at 60mph you can hardly hear it.....I did notice a little bit of leakage where the front axel meets the from diff on the drivers side.
Any suggestions?

Have a mechanic check lower control arm bushing at the rear of the control arm.It is a horizontal bushing retained by a vertical bolt clamping it to frame. The tire will move more forward and back more than it should during braking. canuck mechanic.

It could be the disc brake pads telling you they need to be replaced.

After replacing right front wheel bearing 2011yaris there's a scraping noise from r/f wheel only going forward & increases with speed It doesn't do it in reverse turning steering wheel left no noise

What you may be hearing is the stone guard (metal plate) behind the brake rotor. It may have been bent slightly during the removal/replacement of the wheel bearing, causing it to contact the rotor while in motion. It poses no imminent danger, but it is annoying.

Have a metal grinding noise when turning left only.

Replace the right side wheel bearing. But before you replace it. Listen to see if the noise is coming from the front or back. If you can't tell, Put some one in the back seat. Front bearings usually make noise. rear bearings, the noise can come and go.

I have a 2002 Olds van and it also makes a noise under the front driver wheel well. Mine was mostly when I hit potholes or large dips causing the shocks to compress. The problem is a metal to metal contact between a bushing lip and the suspension. On this side, the bushing is manufactured opposite of the passenger side. The lip is up and causes the two metal pieces to rub. I had to grind down the lip so it would be like the other side. All is better now. I'm not sure if this is where your noise is coming from since it gets louder with speed. I would assume yours is a bearing. Sorry.
