Plugs wires and distributor cap all new as well. Timing is at 10 degrees. I drive down the road and it misses, bucks, and feels like it has power surges....any help would be great

Hi vwdan and thanks for the response. The timing is good and seems to advance when the throttle is increased. The truck has roughly 50,000 miles on it and has been sitting for roughly 10 years. It seems to be in excellent condition except for this problem. The only code that does come up is that it is running rich. I dont know where to go from here as the fuel pressure is perfect the injectors good, new regulator and the air cleaner is new. I am stumped.

Wyatt ,yes when I timed the engine,I did remove the spout.

When I replaced it though I wonder if the rpms should change or now because they did not.

One more thing when you check the timing did you pull the vaccum plug that will turn off vaccum. The plug is located next to the distributor looks like a dead plug with two wires running to it pull the plug spout out and recheck.

I have a 1988 ford bronco xlt and it wont start.I have replaced the 2 pumps and now they operate nicely.I get pressure out of the schraeder valve on fuel rail.I also have power at all injectors upon...

It could clog injectors and mess with regulator. I would start by replacing fuel filter and regulator and see if it fires up then. Do this and let me know.

A 460 engine that acts like its not getting enough fuel. Will start but runs as if only on half the cylinders missing badly or such.

Check your running fuel pump pressure. If (as I suspect) it's too low, first try changing your fuel filter. After changing the filter, recheck the running fuel pump pressure. If still low, check you fuel pump pressure regulator. If OK, you may need a new fuel pump.

Also probably would be a good idea to replace you air filter.

Good luck!

Low fuel pressure

Remove air filter and unplug the mass air flow sensor and try again. if i cranks clean the MAF. check sensors for skewed readings that won't set codes but will upset computer.

1988 ford f150 running rough

Might want to change o2 sensor's, If they are not sending the right single its tell the computer to dump fuel. 1988 was using a fuel density system.
(1989 came out with Mass air flow system)
Check this
I think it might have a TFI module that's not working right. Located under distributor. Its gray and about 4" long and if equip, you need a 4 or 5.5 mm tool to unbolt it. This was a common thing back in the 80's. Its been so long I can't remember if the 4.9 straight 6 had it or not.
