SOURCE: TPMS not working properly

Take the truck to a tire shop that carries a nitrogen machine ,and let all the air out of tires and get them to fill them with nitrogen. this should take care of that problem.

SOURCE: 2008 kia sportage with damage to tire valve stem,

Replace the valve stem or have it replaced. There is a special tool to unscrew the valve stem. Remove the wheel and tire from the car and depress the pin in the stem to release the air in the tire. When you have about 90% of the air out of the tire, insert the tool into the stem an turn counterclockwise to remove. After you install the new valve stem, get a ride to a gas station that offers free air and fill the tire up. As long as the tire is still seated to the lip of the rim (check just for your safety but I very highly doubt it unseated from the rim) and fill the tire to the cold psi rating which is stamped on the sidewall of the tire. If you want to check the tire itself for a slow leak prior to doing the steps above, here is what to do. Get a pan or plastic tub that is sightly wider and longer than the tire and rim. Fill the tub with water and set them it in the water (while it is still filled with air) and slowly roll the tire in place and look for small air bubbles to rise. If you see bubbles, there is a leak.

I have 2008 a4 Audi, message center reads tpms I know it's tire pressure but dont know how to reset, pressure in all 4 tires is exactly the same

Tyre pressure monitoring system could work in a few different ways and invariably needs special dedicated diagnostic equipment to locate faults and to reset. Handheld units are available fairly cheaply but not yet quite as cheaply as some of the diy code readers.

Problem could be a defective sensor or radio sender valve. System will need resetting every time the tyres are changed around the car or when a tyre is changed with some systems.

Tire Pressure Warning is on and yet the tires are full of air

Maybe we can help.

Set your tire pressure to the recommended factory air pressures. (to find this look at the placard that is located in your driver side door jam.) After setting all 4 tires to the correct pressure drive normally. If the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) light doesn't turn off within 24 hours have the TPMS sensors checked at a local wheel and tire retailer or at the dealer. TPMS sensors have batteries in them that last an average of 5-7 years. If one of the batteries is dead it will trigger the system.

FYI, all of our stores can quickly troubleshoot your TPMS system and we stock most replacement TPMS sensors if you end up needing a new one. To find a local Discount Tire near you please visit

The tpms light in my infiniti g35 is on. I already check the tire pressure and they are fine. Do i have to take it to the dealer or can i change the sensor my self? Appreciate your answers thank you

tire pressure must math that on the drivers door sticker, other wise it will not reset. After you set the proper pressure you must drive the vehicle for several minutes above 25 miles/hr to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light, If you have the sensor replaced you have to take it to the dealer or a discount tire shop to have it activated to your vehicle

All you should need to do is check and set all tire pressures and make sure to check the spare also, after all tires are set with air you then drive a few blocks and the light should reset if the light does not reset then you will need to find out which wheel has a bad air pressure sensor, this is done with a tool that is put on the valve stem or a scan tool to see which tire is showing the wrong pressure, hope this helps.

What does it mean when it says check the tpm system?

The TPM System is the Tire Pressure Monitor. Each wheel will have a tire pressure sensor that monitors the tire pressure of each wheel and send that information to a computer. If the computer is not receiving the proper information it will let you know. If the low tire light is on and not flashing than it may be something as simple as a low tire. The proper tire inflation will be inside the drivers front door on the build sticker.

If all the tire pressures are o.k. than you will need to get the TPMS scanned to see why it is not working. Chryslers are pretty common for pressure sensors to fail.

TPMS light is on after tire change . The light says "TPMS" . This means the monitoring system is not working. Honda Element 2008. I suspect it was dicsonnected when the dealer changed tires. Can I...

you have tire pressure sensor that id's each tires pressure. After rotating or changing tire it must be reset to "see" pressure of each tire. Your user manual should have the proceedure. Each manufacturer is different.
