Trying to remove the front diff on a x240 great wall so the sump can be removed

Look around the diff and you will see where it is mounted to the chassis/subframe place a mobile jack under the diff and remove those mount bolts. Lower the diff down enough to get the sump pan off.

Head lights are out hi and low beam all other lights work great checked fuses under hood by fire wall and inside fuse block but all is fine

if you know for sure that the headllights do work(not burnt out),i`ve this happen before, then it could be the headlight switch not working on the headlight side of the switch,or the dimmer switch is not working not allowing power to the headlights on either low or high beams.

Ford escort 1998 adjust headlights

p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; } Determine Aiming Points

Locate a vertical surface to reflect the headlights against. This can be a wall or a darkly painted sheet of plywood set up on its side.

Park the vehicle on a level surface 10 feet away from the wall or darkly painted sheet of plywood. The vehicle must be positioned so that its centerline intersects the wall or plywood sheet at a 90-degree angle.

Determine the centerline of the vehicle and draw a vertical line corresponding to it on the wall.

Push up and down on the front of the vehicle until the suspension begins to rock. Then allow the suspension to settle. This will ensure that the headlights are at the correct height.

Measure the distance between the center of the headlight and the ground on each headlight.

Mark the height of each headlamp on the wall and draw a horizontal line between them.

Measure the distance between the center each headlamp and divide by two.

Measure on the wall, starting from the centerline, along the horizontal line the distance you calculated in the above Step on either side of the centerline. The horizontal line represents the distance from the ground, and the mark you are making in this step represents the distance from the centerline of the vehicle to the center of the headlamp. Where those two lines on each side of the vehicle intersect is where you will be aiming your headlights.

Aim the Headlights Remove the four screws that secure the headlight trim bezel to the grille.

Remove the headlight trim bezel.
Turn the headlight high beams on.
Adjust the headlights. Use the adjustment screws located along the outboard side and the inboard lower corner of the headlight bucket. Adjust the headlights until the beams project directly onto the marks you made on the wall.
Push the car up and down on the front suspension until it begins to rock, then allow it to settle.
Check the headlight alignment against the marks on the wall to make sure they remain consistent.
Replace the headlight trim bezel.

I need to replace and then adjust the headlights on my 2000 Chrysler 300M. How do I replace the headlights, then adjust them.

Park your vehicle on level ground with the headlights near a garage door or wall. A good distance is 2-3 feet away from the wall or door. The location must be perfectly level and flat at a distance of 10 to 25 feet away from the door or wall.
Switch on the low headlight beams and mark the horizontal and vertical centerlines of each headlight beams on the wall using masking tape. This will mark the center of each beam with a +. The marking will tell you where exactly the headlight beams should be centered from a distance.

Move the vehicle back about 10 to 25 feet away from the garage door or the wall.

Keep the headlights on the low beam setting.
Use the markings you made on the wall or garage door to, check where the light shines and see if the centerlines still match up with the masking tape marks. If the centerlines of the two beams do not align with the tape marks, you can adjust one or both sides as needed.

Make the necessary adjustments with the lights still on while watching the light beams on the wall and your marks.
Turning the top adjusting screws in a clockwise direction will raise the beam while counterclockwise turn will lower it.

Turning the side adjuster screws will adjust the lights to the left or right.

Continue the adjustments until the center of the light beams are aligned with the tape marks. Then adjust the vertical alignment of both beams slightly below the marks on the wall. This will assure that the lights are tilted slightly downward so they won’t blind approaching motorist.

The will align bot lights, the high and low sine both are connected to the same headlight!!

How to adjust headlights-2002 Grand Prix

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

2002 nissan xterra headlight is aiming up too high

on each headlamp assembly, there will be either one or two plastic nuts that you can turn.

If you only have one nut on each, that will adjust the vertical aim of the headlights.

If you have two nuts on each, one will adjust the vertical and the other will adjust the horizontal.

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)
