2006 yukon fuel filter

If your having trouble locating a fuel filter on a late model GM there is a good reason as to why you can not find one. The fuel filter has been combined with the fuel pump module. There is no longer a "serviceable" fuel filter on many late model GM Vehicles. The filter gets replaced when or if the fuel pump fails.

Need to know the location of the following items. ECM, fuel filter and relay switch.

Whats the issue?

The fuel filter is located along the inside of the drivers side frame rail about under the drivers seat area. If you are having fuel issues it would be a lot issue to check for power at the pump. This will tell you that everything is fine up to the pump. The pumps are well known to fail.

2001 YUKON STARTS WILL STARTER FLUID BUT DIES AFTER 5-6 SECONDS..COULD IT BE THE FUEL PUMP I REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP 3 MONTHS AGO OR DID THE MECHANIC **** ME.

If you've replaced the fuel pump recently, I would check the fuel filer as well as the fuel pump relay. You can take the fuel filter off and blow into it in the same direction as the fuel flow and it shouldn't be restricted. The fuel pump relay is located in the fuse block underneath your hood close to the firewall. Before trying either of the above you may also make sure the fuel pump cutoff switch has not been activated. These are usually located on the firewall or in the rear of the vehicle behind a panel. It will look like a push button switch that you just push in to reset it. Let me know if any of this helps.

2001 yukon xl every 40 miles acts like its running out of fuel..turn off for 30 seconds and runs fine for another 40 miles then does it every 10 minutes and crank sensor has been replaced. wheres the fuel...

Not sure of filter location but it sounds like pump may be failing...when they do, they bind when they get hot, when cooled down, they work for a short time and then do the same thing again. Likely you will find the filter in the line near the tank...won't hurt to replace it first.

My GMC yukon XL 2001 engine runs after 4 times of cranking.

Try turning key to on only, not start, 2 or 3 times first then try to start. If it starts good first try, then I'd change my fuel filter & then have fuel pressure tested if fuel filter didn't help. You may be looking at a new pump, but lets do filter & test fuel pressure first.

01 gmc yukon stalls while driving/acts like not getting gas

Hey guy I had the same problem with my 2001 Yukon XL. I took it to the dealer and they charged me an arm and a leg for a diag which found nothing. I had the fuel filter changed which fixed the problem for a few months but the problem came back. I have a new car now and drive that most of the time. I came across a site and this guy said to clean the Throttle Body like this link says, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnWiOrnVk28a and also clean the mass air flow sensor as this link says, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPT8rL0noYg I also changed out the air filter. Fixed my problem, the engine no longer stalls and that idle flux has stopped also. I hope this helps you and anyone else who is having this problem.
