Fault service stab sys traction failed abs is what my h3 has been showing. can you help me figure whats wrong and how much it would cost to fix. thank you

It has to be on a scanner to see what is wrong. Could be a bad wheel sensor. Could be a broken wire at a wheel sensor. Could be the ABS module died. Garage costs. Broken wire (2hour minimum) $200, sensor up to $400+, module$1000+

My 2004 Pontiac grand am by ram air has trac off light on and the abs light on what does that mean?

It means that there is a problem with the ABS (anti lock braking system) and traction control systems normally because of a component failure. When you get these warnings the ABS and traction control systems will be de-activated by the computer.
So you will have normal braking function but no anti lock function on your brakes to prevent wheel lock up under hard braking and no traction control system to assist you when a tire or tires begin to lose grip on the road surface.

You need to have the ABS system scanned for fault codes which will help identify which component has caused the problem with the system. Frequently the cause is a failed wheel speed sensor or sensors which are needed for both the ABS and TC systems to operate and it is possibly that issue in your case also. Or there could be an issue with the wiring but there are numerous possible causes. You won't know until the diagnostics are carried out properly. For this issue I would take the car to a GM dealer service center. They have the correct scan tools to diagnose ABS and TC problems and will have seen many others with the same fault appearing.

In the mean time your car is perfectly safe to drive but bear in mind that you will not have the ABS and TC systems to help you if you drive too hard for road and traffic conditions and get yourself into trouble.

How to disable ABS light in toyota yaris, its turned on i have shown many workshops and they say to take it to the dealer which is quite expensive....... help required

If the car has traction control and the traction light is on as well, then you likely have a failed wheel speed sensor. Now, the only way to know exactly what is wrong with the ABS is to have the ABS computer scanned. Dealers do have this scanner and some larger shops do as well. Just search your local phone listings for repair shops and call them to see if they have the ABS scanner. The only way to fix it right the first time is to scan the code. Otherwise, you are just going to throw parts at it and it would be cheaper to have the code scanned and replace the right part the first time. Besides, you might find out it is something wrong with the ABS computer or the servos, which you can't buy yourself from the part store. If you find out it is a wheel speed sensor, you can replace that yourself.

I have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe with 54000 miles on it. I took the car in to the dealer because the ABS lights, traction list were coming on and then would go off. The dealer replaced a bad wheel bearing and...

It is might be a defective part. But with out a code being stored it hard to tell . Are they looking at the EBTCM (electronic brake traction control module ) There was some info on a new style abs sensor connector .but that applied to the toyota matrix but being these cars are both built on the same plate form it could apply, There is very little data on Abs problems for your vibe i have look for tsb on the GM web site that i have access to and found nothing Good luck

ABS Anti Lock lock lite came on along with computer saying Traction Disabled.

The ABS and traction control system are the same system, when the light came on it means the ABS/Trac control module has sensed a fault in the system, that can be one of the many components or the wiring or the hydraulic control unit, in order to find out what has failed the ABS module needs to be tested for a fault code that is stored when the light is turned on, the dealer has the scanner to do this test.

ABS light on constantly. Dealer says nothing wrong with braking system.

The "dealer" should have scanned the vehicle for trouble codes. If the ABS light is on, the ABS module has detected a problem in the system.
If no trouble codes are present, they need to investigate why the light is on. It could be anything from a defective cluster to a failed wire.
I would take your vehicle to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto and ask them to scan your car for trouble codes, they will do it for you free of charge, write the numbers down and respond back to me and we will see what is wrong.
Good luck, let me know.

Traction conrol abs

Try seeing if any of the codes are set off. On your climate control section with the ignition on hold the off and warmer button and the display will cycle through the codes. Could be a wheel sensor I had a c1225 LF sensor. Could also be a problem with the Wheel speed sensor harness see TSB# 0005-25-003. When I called my dealer about this TSB they didn't know anything about it. If you shut off the car and disengage the traction control, in the glove box, do the codes go away?

Good luck

Traction system

Hi there.Whats happening here is an abs sensor in the wheel has failed. In doing so it will turn off your traction control because your abs breaks and traction control work together .If maybe you have an auto zone near by they can scan your break system to find what abs sensor is causing the problem.I hope this clarified some for ya..Auto zone will scan the car for free so that won't cost you anything. You can drive the car you just wont have abs and you should get it fixed.Again I hoped I helped you and if you need further assistance I'll be here to help you..Have a great day..
