SOURCE: 1998 chevy tahoe,5,7 will only run when primed

Does the new fuel pump run? You have had a pressure gauge on it and have 60 psi of fuel pressure when cranking?

2005 Duramax stopped running.replaced fuel filter and sensor,no luck cam you help.

After replacing the fuel filter did you prime the system? There should be a small circular pump on top of the filter assembly to prime it. I own a 2003 Duramax and it usually takes about 5 pumps / turn over / 5 more pumps / turn over / and 5 more and you should get it started. It will take longer if you didn't fill the fuel filter with diesel before installing it as well. Let me know. Thanks.

Truck wont start till after I spray starting fluid in tbi, then runs fine

check to make sure that your not loosing fuel pressure once your truck dies if there is a leak your fuel system may have to prime itself. Also check and make sure your fuel system is holding the correct fuel pressure while running you could have a fuel pump thats going bad on you.

Getting fuell to carb new fuel pump and filters will start whn fuel is poured in carb

if computer command truck with an ECM replace the engine's oil pressure sensor. It has 3 wires to it and one runs to the fuel pump to prime upon starting the engine. Once oil pressure is acheived the computer switches that senors wires circuit off and turns on the fuel pump relay to take over the fuel pumps operations till you shut the engine off

1998 gmc 2500 sle 5.7 wont stay running

Theres only one fuel pump relay, unless you have dual tanks. Be sure you have 55-60 psi fuel pressure. I "think" the oil pressure switch supplies power to the fuel pump after the engine is running.

Have a 98 gmc 5.7 truck have to prime to start truck.

Sounds to me like either your pressure regulator is bad or you have a loose fitting somewhere in the fuel line from the fuel pump to the engine. When you turn your key to the on position, you should hear the whine of the fuel pump until it builds pressure. When you shut the truck off the pressure regulator should retain the pressure for a certain amount of time but if it don't close then air is allowed into the fuel line and the fuel drains down to fuel line away from the engine. Next time you try and start the truck after it has sat for a while try turning the key on until you hear the fuel pump whine shut off, then repeat it 3-5 times and then try to start it. Basically that is running the pump enough to get the fuel back up to the injectors. Check for loose fittings in the fuel line, or cracks in the fuel line and if all that is fine then replace the regulator.

Hope that helps
