Question about 1995 Chevrolet Suburban

I have a 95 burban and I made a right hand turn and the wipers, heater wemt out. It comes on for a little bit and cuts off....replaced both relays and still nothing

    when I punch the gas petal the wipers and heater come on...when I let go of gas it comes off

SOURCE: electric fans dont come on

first put a direct live feed to motor , and earth the motor if fan spins check fan sensor as temp sensor is for gauge on dash not for fan its self could be located on radiator or on engin e itself if fan spins then you know its not a faulty motor other way to solve it is to put fan on a seprate manual swtich where as you can control youself so as to cool it your self but dont forget to turn off when parked up

the Windshield wiper blades have little clips that lock them in place. Most replacements have direction on how to release these, as they are common to all models, and remove and install the new ones. If you are talking about the Windshield wiper motor itself i recommend you get a Haynes repair manual on your vehicle so you have the step by step instruction on how to remove and replace this part.

2001 dodge caravan, intermittent part of the wipers do not work


As the intermittent wipers are based on resistance, try the easiest fixes first:1. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. Pull the relays for the blower motor and both wiper relays and the 30 amp fuse for the wipers. These are located under the hood in the fuse/relay box. The best way is to be careful and use a set of pliers. The reason you pull the blower relay is so that it is easier to pull the intermittent relay. Clean these off the blades of the relay with a burnishing tool (in a pinch you can use your wife's nail polisher that is like very fine sandpaper. Once the are a pretty silver color, wipe them off with some rubbing alcohol. Put them in and pull them out about 5 times into the relay socket and leave them in. Clean the blades for the fuse with a cue tip and rubbing alcohol and then put the fuse in and pull it out about 5 times then leave it in. Hook up the negative terminal and take the key to the on position and turn the wiper to the lowest position. If it works if should take about 36 seconds between strokes. 2. The next easiest is taking the cover off the top of the steering column and pulling off the wiper switch and replacing it. There are three screws that hold the cover and two that hold the switch plus the electrical connector. You can buy a used one at a "junk yard" for about $20. 3. Replace the wiper motor (takes about a couple of hours start to finish). It involves removing the wipers, the cowl (plastic cover over the wiper motor right below the windshield), loosening and lifting the scissor arms for the wiper arms and removing the motor (this involves disconnecting the power connector and feeding it back to the motor).Hopefully your issue is like 95% of the wiper issues and it is just a little bit of corrosion on the wiper relays and fuse!

Windscreen wiper problem


The left and right wiper are on the same fuse and same switch, as well as the same wiper motor. That being said- if one works and the other doesn't, the fault lies with the wiper motor itself, or with the wiper shaft (where the arm connects to the motor.)

A wiper motor has 2 output shafts that either wiper arm connects to. At the base of your left wiper arm is a small cap. (there's one on the right side too, but let it be since it is working!) Remove this and unbolt the wiper arm from the output shaft and pull outwards to remove it.

When you examine the assembly you will notice that the wiper arm and output shaft are splined, which allows the rotational movement of the output shaft to be transferred to the wiper arm. It is common for the contact area of these splines to become damaged. This is often caused by excessive drag on the wiper arm and blade. (ie running the wipers over a dry windshield, or trying to unstick a wiper blade that is frozen to the windshield)

The 1st test is to turn on the wipers and observe the now exposed wiper shaft. Does it spin at all? If it does then problem is damaged splines on the wiper arm. (the arm is made of much softer metal than the output shaft, which makes it easier to repair this problem.)

If it turns out that the splines are damaged the 1st thing to try is to clean them up a bit. I have had luck using a very sharp awl to trace the path of the splines. A locksmiths file is very useful if you need to reshape them a bit. After cleaning up the splines reattach the wiper arm and see if it works. If not the arm will need to be replaced.

Now, if you test to see if the output shaft is turning and it is motionless while the other side wipes away, then the wiper motor and assembly needs to be replaced.

When reinstalling the wiper arm do your best to make its position match the other arm. press it onto the shaft and run the wipers a bit to make sure it is where you want it before bolting it back up.

Windshield wipers won't turn off 2004 Dodge Intrepid


I had a similar problem with a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. The windshield wipers turned on when someone turned the heater on in the car. They would not turn off at all, even when the car was turned off and keys were removed from the ignition. The only way to get them to stop is to pop the hood and find the fuse box on the van, and remove the 30 amp fuse for the windshield wiper. After removing the wiper motor and finding it was fine, we discovered the problem was in the relay in the fuse box. This relay is a little black box right next to the windshield wiper fuse and there are two of them, one for on/off and another for speed control. Our On/Off Relay had gone bad and was stuck in the on position, but it sounds like your Speed Control Relay may be bad. A new relay costs ~10$ at an auto part store. Just unplug the old one and plug in a new one, no need to unscrew anything, this was a 1 minute fix.

Check for leaves and twigs first. Remove the grill under wipers and get your hands, or a willing childs hands dow there you will be surprised at the amount of debris down there. Then use a hose! and flush out thoroughly. You wont soak the inside by doing this but drive a bit with the demist on.This will use the air con as a very effective de-humidifier. Hope this helps.

Winshield wipers not working


All the relays for the wipers are on the motor under that black cover. could be the multifunction lever switch on the left hand side of the steering collumn is bad, the yellow wire would break and no wiper operation. you can remove the little cover behind the turn signal lever and check the wiring(especially the yellow one). also try pushing on the wiper motor cover to see if it comes on. if not try probing a test light in the back of the connector on the motor while hooked to ground and this should trigger the motor to come on in different speeds if the key is on.
