Changing front breaks on 2004 Saturn ion?

I'm going to change the breaks on my g/f friends 04' Saturn ion, and I just wanna make sure there is nothing special on these new cars that i have to watch out for when changing them, i have done Older cars before 2000, and seen that it was easy basic, remove caliper takes pads off and such, so if anyone could toss me some detail that would be great.. Thanks.

Hey man I just changed the brakes on my wifes 2004 Ion, and it is pretty standard stuff. The hardest problem I found was getting the Piston to go back in. I used a C- Clamp to tighten it up and push it back in. I hope this works for you. Just do one side and leave the other together so you have something to refer back to.

A dealer or a transmission repair shop come to mind. Dealer will hurt your wallet and stay away from chains shops like AAMCO. Most likely you are looking at a rebuilt swap install deal.

Ignition cylinder is the usual culprit. Saturn has a big problem with their ignition cylinders going bad when very cold or humid.

How do you change rear brake? cant get drum off saturn ion 04

First of all check the drum for two screws that go through the drum into the back bread plate, if not then take a hammer and hit the drum, be careful not to hit the lugs, you have to loosen the drum because over time it gets rusty and sticks to the lug nut plate that the lugs are attached too..........Hope this helps....any other questions just ask....
