I have a 1992 buick skylark grand sport. It shuts of while I'm driving. There are no trouble codes. Also I have noticed that when it does this it's only when the temp gauge gets to 220 or slightly...

I am having exactly the same problem! No solutions were offered here, have you fixed it- and if yes, please post how! Thank you :) Mike and Robin

Hi,
Chances are this just a random engine misfire caused by bad spark plugs or bad ignition wires. Basically get a tune up and replace the ignition wires (spark plug wires) and your problem should be solved. Have a good day.

Buick regal 92 3.8L Horrible fuel mileage

Sounds like you might have an oxygen sensor problem. Your catalytic converter(s) maybe defective or dirty. That in turn can dirty up the oxygen sensor. A defective oxygen sensor will send faulty info to the computer, interpreting the fumes as cold (even when the engine warms up). That causes the computer to adjust the fuel mixture to very rich, giving you poor gas mileage and the fuel smell. Hope it helps.

Codes 17 and 41 even after cam replacement

Check and make sure your battery cables are clean and tight. You may want to check your ground wires inside the car, under the carpet. I had a bad ground under there.

Check engine light keeps coming on ?

whats the code?
you need to go to autozone and have them use an obd2 to check the codes.
the computer is picking up a problem and setting a code causing the light to come on.

the code is probably related to the emission system or the o2 sensor.

ask them what the code is and if they have that part instock that corrosponds with that code being set.
use superunlead from now on.

keep me posted

1992 Buick LeSabre Custom....180K on the odometer...stalls at low speeds....sometimes at highway speeds without warning...error code 17 is popular...I have a 41 also but the magnet has been missing 2 years...

dont know what the code are w/out looking them up however i do know that is a common problem when ignition coils or 1 ign coil goes bad. or distributor shaft wears out, which i dont think 92 buicks have. your 92 buick should be ign. coils . ignition coils need tested at a auto part store.most are free test call them to make sure.
