Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix
My driver side window will not work it went down but now it will not go up
You could have a faulty switch or a broken wire at the switch. If your other power windows work fine then it's most likly going to be the switch.
Try moving the switch button from side to side as you hit the up button. The contacts at the switch could be bad and the electric motor not getting the signal to go up.
I believe Auto Zone or any parts store like Parts Saource would have the switch for you to replace it and can give you a how to do instructions on how to do the job.
Good luck and hope this helps.

When you push the button to raise the window, do you hear it humming or clicking, or is it dead silent? If it's silent, the motor isn't even trying to raise the window. That's either a blown fuse, a dead window regulator, or a dead window switch. If you hear it clicking or making noises, but not coming up, it's either the regulator is messed up (but not dead), or the window has come off it's guide tracks and can't raise up.

Hi Rachel . It sounds like the plug on the drivers window motor (Which is also the ecu for that door) has come off or is loose . This will stop the cdl working as well . Regards VW Audi tech

If you handy, you most likely can repair this yourself. I have had this happen on two of my Auroras. The window regulators have a nylon part that retains the cable assembly. This part gets brittle as the car ages (really under designed) and the cable end pulls through it.
I have been able to modify the retainer by removing the nylon cover and slicing a little notch to hold the end of the cable. Need a picture here to really show how it's done. In any case, a couple of hour labor and it's fixed for free.
