Question about 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 2WD
2001 dodge 2500 diesel...in 2007 had a/c recharged, again in 2008. Took it to a repair shop and they said probably compressor--$1100. Any suggestions on how to fix it...should I try some of those cannisters for sealing small holes? In 2007 they put a dye in it but couldn't find the leak--said it was probably under the dash.
It is most likely the evaporator leaking. You'll need to remove the dash panel assembly and the heater housing to gain access. I have replace many Chrysler evaporators in trucks, minivans, and Jeeps to name a few. I hope this helps.
