on the passenger side of the engine you will see 2 small metal rods at the top of the engine just below the intake manifold there are little white clips that hold the rods on these clips usually break and the rods come off

SOURCE: i got a code 1537 and 1538 showing on my obd2

I'm assuming you have the 4.2l v6. If this is the case, there are two intake runners per cylinder, one long (torque) one short (horsepower), default setting for these would be long runners or closed.
There is a valve so to speak inside the intake manifold operated by a motor that switches to the short runners when the RPM"s reach a preset point. However there has been a problem with this design, not only with the 4.2's, but the 2.5's and 3.8's and every other motor that uses this design.
The motors go bad, or the valve gets carboned up and no longer moves. If you have a 4.2 start there, if not I'm not sure what is wrong.
Good luck and hope this helps

Check engine light code p200a

P200A Intake Manifold Runner Performance
The Variable Charge Motion Actuator (VCMA) is used to adjust a valve (flap) in the intake runner for each cylinder. The valve does not close off the runner but restricts it in such a way to cause turbulence (swirl) in the air fuel mixture. The turbulence in the air will reduce emissions under cold start condition. The valve is operated by a worm gear type driver which doesn't open for limp home mode in the case of loss of current supply. (It doesn't have a return spring.) The system also has a Valve Position Sensor (VPS) to supply a feedback of the valve position to the PCM.

P2004 intake valve stuck open

code p2004 refers to intake manifold air control actuator-bank 1--actuator stuck open===Causes---wiring--intake manifold air control actuator---mechanical fault .I would check blockage and wire connections Then I would replace the actuator But I would not tear down the engine as it is between the air filter and the manifold. Check the air cleaner element

Whats is Service Engine Code P1800 - VIAS Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Open

Here is the definition. Cost would depend on your area and the actual problem found after testing.

P1800 NISSAN Description When the engine is running at low or medium speed, the power valve is fully closed. Under this condition, the effective suction port length is equivalent to the total length of the intake manifold collector's suction port including the intake valve. This long suction port provides increased air intake which results in improved suction efficiency and higher torque generation.
The surge tank and one-way valve are provided. When engine is running at high speed, the Engine Control Module (ECM) sends the signal to the Variable Intake Air System (VIAS) control solenoid valve. This signal introduces the intake manifold vacuum into the power valve actuator and therefore opens the power valve to two suction passages together in the collector.
Under this condition, the effective port length is equivalent to the length of the suction port provided independently for each cylinder. This shortened port length results in enhanced engine output with reduced suction resistance under high speeds.

Engine code P1800 for infiniti I35, how do I fix this?

Code 1800 is for the Variable Intake Air System control solenoid.

The VIAS control solenoid valve cuts the intake manifold vacuum signal for power valve control. It responds to ON/OFF signals from the ECM. When the solenoid is off, the vacuum signal from the intake manifold is cut. When the ECM sends an ON signal the coil pulls the plunger downward and feeds the vacuum signal to the power valve actuator. An excessively low or high voltage signal is sent to ECM through the valve

Went to autozone they diagnostic it said intake manifold runner stuck open code P2004 we have no idea what that means please help.

The intake manifold runner valve system is mounted on the intake manifold and consists of the intake manifold runner valve (IMRV), the IMRV motor and the IMRV position sensor. The IMRV motor opens and closes the IMRV using multiple gears. The valve position sensor detects the opening angle of the IMRV. The IMRV has a groove on its upper portion. When the IMRV is closed, air flows through a groove into the cylinder from the intake manifold, so that a dynamic air flow or "tumble" air flow is generated in the cylinder. The tumble air flow drastically reduces fuel deposits inside the intake air port and the combustion wall surface inside the cylinder. This improves the combustion efficiency by boosting the air−fuel mixture and air flow turbulence.

Check engine light is on. I was told it is the EGR. How do I locate the EGR on this vehicle? The code is P004. 2002 Chevy Express with 5.7 ltr. engine. well it should be near the front of the intake manifold, you will see the EGR valve ( which looks like the thing on the web site link). Disconnect the electrical connector, remove the two 10 mm head bolts, remove the lead coated gasket from the intake. Be sure to clean the surface of all evidence of the gasket, using care to not get any into the intake. Place the new gasket on the EGR valve, using the bolts to keep it in place, put the new EGR on the intake. Tighten the bolts up evenly, plug the connector back in, hope this helps

Code P2004 Bank 1 runners stuck open, What is the fix for this?

This code indicates Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Open, Bank 1

Its hard to be very specific about a fix on this as there are a few potential fixes including the outright replacement of the intake manifold. If the Manifold Flow Valve blades are seized in the intake manifold, the manifold will have to be replaced
However this code can sometimes have a very easy fix and if you are lucky you may find that it is caused by a split vacuum hose connecting to the actuator. A leak in the vacuum system will set the code and I suggest you check this out first as a potential cause.

Thanks for using FixYa.
