The worst case is damaged piston which means engine rebuild. You may be lucky to limit the damage to just the head. When you find which piston/ cylinder is affected you will have to check the con rod for bent condition and bearing damage. as to the cost that will depend on what is damaged but budget for a motor replacement.

SOURCE: my anti lock brake and traction control light came

Could have a ABS wheel speed sensor going bad, once this happens will disable the ABS and the trac control. Have it scanned and find out which sensor is bad. Small possibility of ABS module failure, but not as likely.

Don't do that again! You will need to re-boot the on board computer system by entering a code. Call your nearest Cadillac dealer.

Bank 1 sensor malfuncatoin/lean fuel/slow to react

what engine, no engine size stated so i must generalize. (hard)
you got a CEL then pulled the DTC, bravo that.. well done!@
B1S1 or B1S2, posting the actual DTC wins here,
any other DTC'S or running symptoms?????????????????????
my guess is B1S1 , due to lean lookup. bank 1 sensor 1.
S1 is the keystone of engine fueling (at idle or steady cruise) .
It determines the final air and fuel air mixtures.

the sensor can be bad.?
or any cracks in the exhaust near it.????? (fresh air is 20% oxy)
or engine really is lean.
see , 2 logic reasons, sensor bad or good and is lean for real.

if car has 100k on it, its due, for a change, anywhy
so do that.
then if it comes back, then it real (no cracks)
why is my engine really real.
its lean for a large number of possible reasons...
1: low fuel pressure.
2: MAF stuck high, or if MAP car, map reading to high.
in simple English the air sensors are fibbing showing Low air when it really air.
the air sensors. are the prime sensors.
all fuel is injected based on them. (and temperatures)

3: air leaks, on MAP cars, it dont go lean only races.
3b: air leaks on MAF , causes lean conditions, (most modes)
on a maf based engine any induction leaks too big will cause
the B1S1 sensor to loose control at idle or low speed cruise,Hot)

there are other reasons.. many.
the above is basics.
let it be said, the engine that misfires, sends a slug of oxygen
to the sensors. and causes it to mess up.
this is the bad deal with all narrow band oxy sensors...
they dont see misfire. correctly.

what we do in a shop is see if we can wake up the sensor
(no cracks found in header)
(S1 is the PRE CAT sensor , one more way to say it)
we force the EFI rich, and scan and graph the S1.
how? , well there are 2 ways.
1: is add propane gas to the induction, (air cleaner works)
2: or force fuel pressure higher, on MAF cars, we pinch the vacuum
'hose to the Fuel pressure reg, this makes it go about 10psi higher.
now you know a trick. or two.
the o2 will go rich showing that it is alive. if not , its dead.
or has horrid levels of oxygen flowing by it.
(gross misfire, burned exhaust valves, gross induction air leaks., etc)

Idle up down

hunting or surging ilde. name the 2 RPMS, low and high , is it hot or cold engine this issue.? 400rpm or 1000 or 2000 all are diff.causes.
no year, stated. so cant help.
but ill answer in the generic,
1: the ECU (got a carb,? )
the ecu controls idle speed at all times.
if not , there is a problem (you)
A: air leaks in the induction will make motor race at some point the ECU/ISC loses control. and hunts. trying hard to correct it.
b: egr stuck open idle too low, iSC cant correct it,, bad EGR.
c: engine EFI running way too leak starving for fuel so it hunts for 2 reasons < ISC hunting, and lean does that.
lean is gross power loss and opening throttle bogs the engine.
so is double bad. ISC makes it worse,

all this breaks down to 2 reasons.
1: ISC bad. in some way (gummed up. or restricted inside)
2: bad fueling or air leaks. vacuum leaks.

try answers , the hot cold question and the 2 speeds, of the hunt.
lowest rpm and highest of the hunted range of RPM.

Troopy 75 Series landcruiser engine problem? hi

Check your air filter housing and the air intake piping. There is a reason why there are high level air intakes available for your vehicle, it is to stop water getting inside the combustion chambers. There is a possibility that your engine has sucked water into the induction system. It needs to be checked and cleaned as soon as possible. Water in the combustion chambers WILL kill your engine.

Since it has already been switched we can't get other indications and readings, so if replacing it has stopped the error codes, at least your cars computer is no longer sensing a problem.

What is induction control valve?

Variable Resonance Induction (VRIS) System opens and closes shutter valves in the dynamic chamber according to engine speed. This
improves charging efficiency by using intake air pressure waves

or in more basic terms, its supposed to be a more effecient way of feeding air into your engine at the appropriate time

OK My 03 2500, Silverado pulls a code: PO 101, Mass Air flow circuit out of range, what do I change to fix it?

The MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow) is located in in the air induction system usually just after the air filter and before the throttle body, and the ECM (Engine Control Module) uses the signal generated from the MAF sensor to determine how much fuel the engine receives. However, before you replace the MAF sensor you should be certain that there are no air or vacuum leaks in the air induction system especially between the throttle body and the MAF sensor, and also that all of the hose clamps are all good and tight on the air induction boot especially between the throttle body and the MAF sensor, and check if the air flow is being restricted from the air cleaner side of the MAF. (check the air filter and check the air intake to the air cleaner for any obstructions that might be restricting the air flow to the MAF)

You can also clean the MAF sensor with carburetor spray because they build up a very fine dust on the air velocity sensors that are mounted on wires that are suspended in the air stream to monitor and determine the amount of air flow into the engine, and when the MAF sensor becomes dirty the MAF sensor will loose performance. Be very careful when cleaning the air velocity sensors inside of the MAF sensor because they are very delicte and are easily damaged, and do not touch them with anything other than the spray from the carburetor can and that is all that is necessary to clean the air velocity sensors. Here are some images that I have put together to assist you.

Jaguar 2002 s type Cabin air filter - engine air intake filter

I'm not sure what the cabin filter is but the air filter is straight forward. With the hood open you should see the air box just inside on the right with the large induction hose going across and to the engine. The top of the air box should open with a couple of hooks or clamps and the air filter sits on top inside the open box.
