Question about 2000 Audi A6
I had a similar problem on my 1998 A6 , It was the ABS module which is a common fault apparantly - Its an easy repair but a costly one , especially if taken to Audi Main Dealer.
What happens is the ABS warning light comes on and sometimes flickers on and off , when connected to the diagnostic computer at Audi there is a 'no communication' fault.
I originally took mine to Audi who charged me £45 to tell me that they didnt know what it was and that the car could do with a full wiring check at £450 + vat !!
Upon a little research on the internet I found that my symptoms were a common problem and the fault was the ABS module.
I ordered a reconditioned module from a place called 'ECU TESTING' , based at 52b station road, Ilkeston , derbyshire DE7 5LE.
It cost me £176.25 delivered and came with a 2 year warranty - that was in Feb 2007 so price may have changed slightly since then.
If I remember rightly the same part new from Audi was around the £750 + vat mark.
Fitting was really easy (even for me!!) and took just 15 minutes.
